I want to buy a Christmas gift for a girl and I thought of a polaroid as a great gift for her. My question to you, /p/ederasts, is whether it's worth it and not just a meme
>I thought of a polaroid as a great gift for herDumbass consoomer goycattle.>worth itIt's not.>not just a memeIt is.>/p/ederastsTone it down, simp.If you want to buy her a camera, buy her a real camera.
>>4482270Girls do tend to like instant film, though make sure she doesn't already have an Instax. As far as I'm aware every girl on the planet is born with one. If for some reason she doesn't already have one, you could also look at Fujis instax models. I know they have some now that are basically just a shitty little digicam with the printer build in, so it's not true instant film but I doubt she will be autistic enough to care about that. There's also vintage polaroids like the SX70, which are pretty cool.
>>4482270I can think of a better gift
>>4482270I gave this exact model to gf 2 years ago. Quality is shit, instant film is the worst media while being the most expensive. Buy her a Rollei (not the new one), it's easy to use and looks fancy + the lens is extremely kink
>>4482275Anon, unless a girl has an existing interest in photograph (meaning her first boyfriend was into photography), she is not going to care to learn how to load, unload, develop and scan film. Definitely will not want to learn how to use the camera either. Remember girls do not like your autistic hyper-fixation, they like partying and 'vibes'.
>>4482276My gf is a nerdy autist who's constantly using my macro lenses...
>>4482291Mine too anon, but then maybe let her choose the lens, fixed lens cameras frustrate autists. If she's turbo autistic you can get a 645, if not just get a Rollei 35, it's one of the smallest 35mm ever, can fit even in girls pockets
>>4482270Its definitely a meme but she'll like it.>>4482276Photography is definitely the type of hobby women will get into on their own. It's not hiking or biking.
>>4482308I'm not the OP, and she shoots DLSR or mirrorless, she's not into all that polaroid fashion. Real cameras with real interchangeable lenses remind her of her childhood, especially macro lenses her father had
>>4482270Buy her a contax T3 or do you not really love her?
>>4482270All girls want the Canon G7X. No, not the power shot since it doesn't have the built in flash.
>>4482270>>4482273>>4482275>>4482308>>4482350>>4482494If you are rich – like really rich – buy each camera you've been suggested + all the equipment + a lot of offset materials to do photos (memory cards/photographic roll film...). If you are not rich; my advice is to buy her an acceptable camera, HOWEVER, check the prices for memory cards or photographic film for that camera. It wouldn't make sense to buy her a camera, only for her to discover that the photoimaging is cost prohibitive, to then keeping it in a drawer. So... My second advice besides buying her an acceptable camera without any equipment/add-ons, is to buy her a shitload of memory cards or photographic film. The intention is for her to use that camera but to also signal that the memory cards/film isn't expensive nor cost prohibitive.
>>4482270Not worth it IMHO. Polaroid film is more expensive and worse than Instax film. I think the main reason to use Polaroid is to use real Polaroid cameras and luckily they make that film again, and it's worse than Instax, but at least you can use a cool Polaroid 600 camera. But if you're using a new and gay looking POS like in your picrel then you're just using a gay camera and paying more for worse film.Women seem to love instant cameras, and they like the Instax Mini prints a lot in my experience. Quality is what you'd expect from consumer instant film but it's fun. I have an Instax mini 90 camera because it gives me a bit more exposure control but for a gift for a girl you're probably best off with a base level Instax camera and a few packs of film.
>>4482291>My gf is a nerdy autist who's constantly using my macro lensesOh yea? For what, looking at your dick?
>>4483617You're a funny little guy
My girl got me into polaroids actually. But the vintage ones are a lot cooler; I love my SX70 but I need to take it somewhere to get looked at as it stopped working.I agree with others ITT and an Instax might be a better option, even over the similarly priced Polaroid Go (films cheaper and more widely available)Mine really laments the death of pull-apart film for her Polaroid 104
Seconding the Instax, it's simple to use and fun. Buy some cute film with the hello kitty or barbie or some other childish cartoon and she'll enjoy it.>t. I'm a cute girl and my bf bought this for me <3
