Where do I go from here?

To the shop. Buy a new camera. Keep the cum off of the next one.
>>
D850? The top panel comes off with a few screws and that wheel is in it, remove top panel, rinse with alcohol, work a bunch of times to get the stuff out, re-assembly, good as new.

You can probably get away without removing the top panel if you use alcohol on a toothbrush, turn the camera lens facing up so it drains and brush it off.

It's a d7500, seems a little more complicated than just a few screws.
>>
>>4483351

Every single Nikon made since the 1950s is built the same way, the top part is a separate assembly that comes off.

If it's anything like my Df, D4 and D800, etc., which it should be, there will be two screws above the lens mount, usually one or two on the upper sides, a couple near the viewfinder, gently pull up on it and bob's your uncle. There's going to be a couple small ribbon cables so shimmy it up when you pull it off, go by the sides.

This guy can help you. But honestly, you can probably clean that without removing the top if that's the only ingress, turn it upside down so it drains and brush it off with a toothbrush.

You should see a doctor anon
>>
>>4483355
The video shows you have to remove the back section before the top section comes off.

So far I've used some alcohol and water to clean it. When I slipped in the mud I didn't use the dial at all after so it didn't get all mucked up. I don't rally trust myself with opening this up, I might take it to a shop. Or I'll keep cleaning, I might be able to let it dry a bit and blow it out.

>Every single Nikon made since the 1950s is built the same way
This isn't even true in hyperbole. Shut up retard
>>
>>4483497

Alright Mr. Smartypants who probably doesn't do camera repair, name a Nikon DSLR, SLR or rangefinder that the top doesn't come off of, not including Nikonos, and even the early ones the top comes off to load the film in it.
>>
>>4483794
>these cameras are built the same way because they have a body panel
No wonder you are the laughing stock of this place
>>
>>4483796

I meant they are all built the same in how the body panels come off, I guess reading is fucking hard

go have terminal autism somewhere else fagtron
>>
>>4483800
But they don't come off the same way, the only commonality is that they have body panels. A fair few of them don't even have a single top panel. By that logic every 35mm ILC camera is built the same way. It's just a useless thing to tell someone, it doesn't make you sound smart and it's helpful to no one.
>>
>>4483801

name one
>>
>>4483802
Name one what? Are you on a quest to make sure even the least experienced photographers know for a certainty that you have no clue what you're doing? I thought surely this guy with so much to say must be good at something else photography adjacent, after seeing your photos. But obviously not.
>>
>>4483803

The burden of proof lies on you nigga this is debate 101 if you can't do it, just bow out while you can and I'll pretend it never happened.

I've been doing camera repair for years almost every camera made not including autism shit works the same way the top comes off with a few screws and everything is accessible. That's what I was getting at but instead you want to be a fucking contrarian sperglord and say

>ACKTUALLY

without providing any proof to contradict what I said.

Here is a Nikon Df top I recently serviced with a similar problem, look how the top comes off to get to all the wheels, just like OP has. You have to remove the back, well you don't but it makes it easy, and the top slides right off with a couple ribbon cables. His 7500 is from the same era.

This is the part where you stop saying words, no further discussion is necessary beyond this point, good day sir.
>>
>>4483807
Wow that's a long way of saying that, yes, in fact I am correct, the plates do not all come off the same way. How interesting you get yourself assmad enough to write out this massive long yap, call it a dunk all the while admitting you were wrong in the one post... Why don't you show us the pile of shit that you broke by letting it hang off the desk half disassembled... what a retard

>The burden of proof lies on you nigga this is debate 101 if you can't do it, just bow out while you can and I'll pretend it never happened.
You didn't even say what you want. you just go "name one" in all lowercase like the teenage girl you mentally are. What does this mean? Make it make sense. I feel like I'm talking to the exact median of american intelligence here.
>>
>>4483803
nigga just name one. You win the argument if you can name one. Fagging off about some other innane shit instead of just naming one just makes you look like a nigger
>>
you all write like twitter users
never more than 1-2 constructive steps into anything because rhetoric is more important
language tailored against you
imagine if you could easily get 25 steps into a conversation, what people could come up with
>>
the premise that arguments are to be WON is what gives permission for everything to be twitter dopamine shitflinging
>>
>>4483860
>imagine if you could easily get 25 steps into a conversation, what people could come up with
>on a site with 2000 character limit
>expecting fully fleged explainations
>>
>>4483902
it worked for awhile, nigga
or atleast it seems that way to me
>>
>>4483902
that's how traditional forums and message boards have worked for like 30 years, as well
>>
>>4483904
Zoomers only know Twitter, Facebook posts and expiring 60second videos. Are you really surprised?

Most responses to word limit posts are
>didn't read
>lol wall of text
>not reading that
because most people on 4chan have the reading comprehension of a chimpanzie on nyquil.
So don't be surprised when nobody tries anymore.
