Which camera bag do you currently own? Does anything currently compete with the McKinnon Sling in terms of price+quality+features? Trying to find one of a similar size that will be comfortable enough for moving around.
I'm going to keep posting this Lowepro Trekker Lite SLX 120, since it is so niche, relative to Peak Design and Wandrd sling bag makers.Waist pack is so convenient. If you wear it on your front, it's like a top loader, and your camera is easier to reach. Most sling bags should frankly be hip and waist bags. It's just our fashion obsession that makes us wear it like a sling, when it would be more comfortable and practical on the waist.https://youtu.be/y4fXwKASl0shttps://youtu.be/jOszWG8kGt8

I have this lowpro and it's nice but my z8 with the 70-200 attached takes up most of the usable space

>>4485602for slings, I like the Bellroy Venture 10L, great for rainthe Wotancraft Pilot series has my eye currently thoughsometimes I'll use the HoldFast Lens Quiverbeen through Domke, Peak Design, Think Tank Retrospective, and Vanguard slings & messengers
For me, it's the 225. It is very deceptive in how small it looks when closed up, given how much it fits. Plus the quality of materials and everything is top tier. The only thing I would change is adding snaps to the carrying handles, so they could be removeable.
Trying to find a camera bag but I don't know what I want and will be picky.
>>4485800Based Billingham enjoyer I scored an Eventer Mini for around $150, it's a nice upgrade from the Hadley Small Pro

>>4485920Nice. I used to use a Hadley Small from the 90s which was a hand me down. Recently the nylon fleece insert started degrading and leaving fine green dust on all my gear, so I specifically sought out a replacement that has the smooth woven interior without the soft fleece. Not a bad run for a 30 year old bag though, and the main part besides the insert is still in very good shape.

>>4485800>>4485920How's the leather? can't seem to find any info other than their marketing, which doesn't tell me anything
>>4487072The leather trim on the Hadley was already cracking when I got it, but I don't know what the previous owner did with it. The top grain leather on the Eventer seems fine enough, no issues with loose grain or scuffing.
>>4485602Get a camera insert and you can use whatever bag you want.
I know 2-3 people in the last /bag/ liked my camera bag setup a few months ago, good news is I just saw it show up for sale on buyee. The 80-320mm is a decent tele too for the money if its in decent shape if you're a Pentax shooter but the 24-105mm it comes with looks moldy.Shipping will kill the deal but at least the lens its coming with is a nice bonus if you're a Pentax shooter. https://buyee.jp/item/jdirectitems/auction/l1201632331?conversionType=jdirectitems_auction_DirectSearch#group=nogroup&photo=0
>>4485788I mostly use the 500AW and my sigma 150-600 also takes up most of the space. But I can still fit a couple of other lenses plus some other shit like a small bottle and gloves. It's quite heavy though, the bag itself already weighs 2 kg. I also have the 350AWII but it's too small, my D750 doesn't even fit in height with an L-bracket attached.
>>4487072I have Billinghams that are 20-30 years old and the leather is still perfectly fine. The trim on the new models also seems to be of the same quality in my experience. Just treat it like you would any other leather item (light greasing once in a while) and it'll last pretty much forever
On a related topic, I'm tired of these pleather lens pouches that start to flake whenever you actually start using them, like pic rel. Any tips for replacement?
