what is going to be your next hobby now that no one cares about good photos on any platform at all?
>>4489059Cringe despair and absolute need for external validation anon admits he hates photography and cannot take a single picture he cares about.SAD! Also git gud, snapshitter.
>>4489060ok now that your cope is out of the way, how about answering my question?
after mastering photography i put down my shitty cameras (all top of the line film cameras, but theyre just shitty) and now i only take pics with my phone for practical purposes or gen pics/animations with AI, thats the stuff, way more stimulating and useful
>>4489066what do u use it for friend
>>4489059I take photos because I care thoughDo you really only enjoy hobbies to the extent you can show other people you engage in the hobby?SadMy next biggest hobbies are weightlifting, MtG, backpacking / hiking, and vidya>>4489062Do you need us to spoon-feed new hobbies for you because you have no interests on your own? Sad
How many more times will you make this thread, you fucking retard?
>>4489059>im not getting likes on facebook i have no reason to existgenuinely patheticmake real friends>>4489062you are a non-person, a golem, a goyim, incapable of independent thought and action. its that simple. lower than a woman because at least women are trying to get laid.
I can still buy film and I can still get it developed and prints made, or I can scan my film at home. So I don't think photography is dead. And I've never chosen my hobbies based on "platforms" so I'll just keep taking pictures I guess.
>>4489100You can get raw chemicals and make your own film on glass. Film will never be dead. Same goes for rudimentary printing methods like salt or albumen.
>>4489077>>4489094>>4489100>>4489104that you can puppet the corpse of film photo around and keep it on life support through several variations of "how can i make this process MORE cumbersome for no reason at all" doesnt mean the medium and the practice itself isnt dead though
>>4489123If social media platforms are your metric for life you are dead yourself, cattle.
>>4489123>no reasonThere's plenty of reasons but your cattle brain simply cannot comprehend them. Unfortunate, but understandable.
>>4489128without likes and reblogs his life is empty, worthless, and may as well not exist. please understand. when he forgets his phone he continuously reaches for his pocket and feels like screaming.
>"How many times do I have to tell you it's dead before it finally dies?!"
>>4489130The funniest part is that he proves he hates photography, knows nothing about photography, and still has the ego to think he can declare it dead. A great display of the bad kind of autism.
>>4489123I use the medium and I engage in the practice, so as a simple factual matter it can't be fully "dead." and the process is already extremely simple for me. I could shoot black and white and do rodinal stand dev and make it even simpler (not that c41 at home is particularly hard). why don't you share a photo with us? you seem to think all that matters is people liking your pictures, so show us one of these good photos that "no one cares about on any platform at all" like you said in your OP. and since nophotos can't very well ask others to put up or shut up, here's a shot off a recent roll, just testing extension tubes + close focusing filters. I'd love to see a photo of yours!
>>4489140Even your test shots are more effort than he deserves. Let him doompost in a void of trolls.
>>4489062I do it for me, not other poeple.
>>4489059I've never really taken them for the public to see, they've all been for friends and family or having my own collection, depending on the content. Stuff for friends and family is exclusively things like portraits or photos out and doing things, but I've done some other stuff like provide photos for home decorating.
>>4489059>NOOOOOO NOT MY LIKERINOS ON SOCIAL MEDIARINOO NOOOkek, imagine not doing a hobby first and foremost for yourself
>>4489059The book says I should do porn shoots and not bother shooting, just bang pro hoooers27 minutes of these fucking captchas to post this piece of shit post. F this
>>4489160Yeah so the update effectively banned pc users, I couldn’t pass the capture on pc even once. Phones have an incredibly easy capture so the only posters on this site are now phone posters. They are clearly getting hacked by pc users and this is their last resort. It does remind me this place won’t be here forever. It’s also clearly a target for some force to destroy hence the endless hacks. Perhaps this is a grim insight into the future, endless growth requirements mean forces eventually start killing 4chan because we need the entire population on the same 5 websites to pump maximum advertising and propaganda into them.
>>4489154mostly dis, mr- oranginoshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foxDYkSvVcU
>>4489123Photography is still more popular now lolAgain, sounds like you don't actually like photography if you find the experience of it cumbersome
Is gardening dead? Is bike riding dead?I mean photography is the most popular hobby on planet earth due to being the easiest hobby in human history. You literally just press 1 button. 8 billion photos are taken every single day.Should I get huge amounts of external validation because I did some gardening or rode a bike?noYou do a hobby because you like doing it,now if you are fucking retarded and need constant attention and shit like upvotes you are going to get down on your knees and suck zucks @#*# and spend 10 hours a day looking at advertising and uploading reels while we all laugh at you and just enjoy our hobby of taking photos since we do indeed enjoy the taking photos part.
>>4489160the missus in this picture has sexy thighs. that is all.>>4489160>>4489163This new captcha is easy you are retarded. that is all.>>4489170I agree. that is all.
>>4489059Event, concert, wedding and many other types of photography is AI proof work. We're still many years away from having an android walking around taking proper photos, so until that time, enjoy having one of the few AI proof jobs in the creative world.
The fact that there are so many replies here on a dead board mean that OP is right.Myself, I am just playing more vidya. It sucks but what else is there?
>>4489198Photography.
>>4489198>*retarded nonsense*>many replies calling you an idiot>SEE! SHILLS! MY IDEAS ARE DANGEROUS! I’M RIGHT!Narcissism
>>4489163No, you’re actually a retard.>He can’t find the odd one out.
sup op here. i see almost no one answered my question and its just cope hehe.two people said vidya.it kind of feels like you nerds were "levelling up" your photography skills or ideal gear and then now that literally no one cares about photos, like you can't even get feedback on them here on /p/ let alone have anyone appreciate your nice shots elsewhere, you just kind of got rug pilled.so you guys really have no other hobby to jump into? crazybut i guess in like 2 or 3 years when you finally accept that the medium has died, you will have naturally, slowly and as usual far too late moved into something else. anyone left here was probably also into photography too late and missed its resurgence. am i right?
>>4489188>wedding and concert is a hobbydo you really only practice photography as a hobby in the hope you can work weddings? lol
>>4489170gardening and biking aren't creative hobbies. they are physical tasks. do you just walk around with a camera switched off mechanically pointing it at things? hahahhacameras were meant to take photos and the photos were meant to communicate with other people. when people no longer care to look at photos and are not capable of assessing a good one from a bad, then the medium is dead and the activity that creates the medium is pointless.is this really hard for you guys to understand?
>>4489145so the answer is you have nothing else and only when it is 100% dead instead of just 98% dead you will be forced to pick up warhammer or some other nerd shit you found on 4chan, which too will be gone sooner rather than later. got it.
>>4489206Gardening can absolutely be creative even an art, dummy. Why do you care so much about what a bot on instagram thinks?
>>4489208>pulling weeds is creativek>Why do you care so much about what a bot on instagram thinks?what a weird assumption... are you like 40? lol
People only need to go see the state of >>>/gd/ to know how photography, and /p/ will end up.
>>4489204I'm not sure I follow, I've been working in various jobs related to photography for 17 years nowI started visiting /p/ way back when as a noob, and saw what it used to be, and I try to bring bits of that back through various effort posting, and lots of photo postingHaving worked on both the retail / vendor side and directly as photographer, I also don't think you have a very good grasp of the way the the hobby has gone over the last few decadesI'm still making money through photography, and still enjoying it as an everyday hobby, and most snapshots I post is only posted here and to my IG story, and that's okay to meWhat other hobbies do you do? Why haven't you shared any of your photos here yet? What would be an indication to you that the medium has died? How, in 2-3 years can we look and say "based on x, y, z", the medium is (or is not) dead?If you don't answer these questions with effort, just know that you're part of the reason why the board is in the state that it is.
>>4489213>I started visiting /p/ way back when as a noob, and saw what it used to be, and I try to bring bits of that back through various effort posting, and lots of photo postingpost one of your threads?
>>4489206>when people no longer care to look at photosDemonstrate this is the case with some amount of fact please.>are not capable of assessing a good one from a badWhy would this have any bearing? What are some examples of other mediums that we can compare with?
>>4489213>most snapshots I post is only posted here and to my IG storyAnother Zuckerberg slave. Sad!
>>4489214Not my thread, but my effort post >>4485802
>>4489213>If you don't answer these questions with effort, just know that you're part of the reason why the board is in the state that it is.Do you really need it spelled out, Mr. 17 year professional? I am talking about photography, /p/ was never good. More active many years ago, for sure, but never good.
>>4489216>I am part of the reason why the board is in the state that it is.
>>4489215Literature. Film. Games...
>>4489219what?
>>4489211>I have strong opinions about things I know nothing about! Crazy stupid lil bro.
>>4489221He's projecting.
>>4489218Nah, p was goodWe used to have regular professional posters, many of whom still work as professionals todayWe used to have dedicated editing threads, where we learned advanced Photoshop techniquesWe used to have a community that had meetups, and real life exhibitionsWe used to have a community photo book, and a traveling cameraWe all were struggling with digital in its infancy and the growing pains that came with it, aka you new kids don't know how good you actually have it, how great modern cameras really areWe had much more fun memory, anyone remember that faux-wedding photographer from like Bristol that ended up coming to the board and fighting with us?>>4489221Board sucks now because of people like you
Need for external validation = narcissismAccept this or there is no saving your neurotic, dysfunctional ass. Ya’ll sound like women who just got told they arent popular.
>>4489228Based and true, the most pure way to engage with photography is to take photos, but never share them
>>4489229Supreme.
It’s just funny saying photography is dead when 8 billion people take photos everyday. If you want to know what a dead hobby is go browse /litNo males read books for like 20 years now, all they can talk about is books from 20-100 years ago.
>>4489202I wanted to tell you why it doesn't work, but the filter literally won't let me post the text. Whoever NuMoot put in charge of this website fucking sucks.
>>4489229lol. no wonder you guys suck. no better than some retard building sand castles every day that no one looks at and that disintegrate into the tide
>>4489205Why is it always black and white with you dweebs.Weddings can be your bread & butter that allow you to take other photos. It's photography work that won't be replaced by AI and work that allows you to actually have an income from doing the thing you love.Does that mean you ONLY have to shoot weddings? Of course not you dweeb. Have a little broader mindset for fucks sake
>>4489218>/p/ was never good.this was an excellent board in the past, night and day with the trash thats currently posted, shit threads staying for months, thats death.
>>4489207What does this even mean? Aside from me just like taking photos and trying to preserve certain aspects and memories in an artistic way, for me to look back on, and share with family and friends, it's a hobby like any other hobby, and people's hobbies can and do change. 10 years ago my hobbies were video games and general fitness. When my wife and i had a kid I had to change up my life, which included my hobbies. So I basically went back to two of them that I did as a kid, hiking and photography.
>>4489257Bro really doesn't know that sand mandalas are one of the ascended forms of meditation
>some retard building sand castles every day that no one looks ateven if people doesnt look at things, they still influence the world. im on team photo is dead, but that was just so ignorant man.
