Why do some old photos have a certain "look" to them that modern photos don't?

Grain + colour rendering + setting + lens

The way people dress is different, the way people pose is different, the actual settings are different, lens coatings are much better now, digital grain looks different to film grain. Even the way people take photos has changed.

I am sure in 50 years we will have people asking why their photos don't have that certain look photos from the 2020s have. The answer will be the same.

How could they look the same, these photos are developed with chemicals, not digital
