>>4519872there is no landscape generalthere's a thread pretending to be a well-established thread known as a general, but it has yet to earn its place. the /rpt/ has been around a lot longer than any so-called general on this board.

>>4520014>rotated the wrong wayWell shieeet. First time that's happened to me in a long time, now I feel like a dumbass. Left is down.
>>4519821>>4519931I posted>>4519723I also use a Minolta SR-T with either a 45mm or 50mm lens for B&W Film Photography. I use Ilford 400ISO film for that. Don't ask me which 400 iso film I use. I have a bunch of rolls in the refrigerator. I don't shoot with film as much anymore. I develop the negative here at the house, scan it on a CanoScan 9000 something or other, then process it. It scans as a .tiff file so that there are the digital layers like in a RAW photo
>>4519964>>4519965>>4519966>>4519967Damn, what camera, lens and eventual presets?
>>4520078GFX50R, the first shot is adapted Soligor 28/2 (sort of covers the kino crops, falls apart beyond the FF sensor coverage, this was f11. I kinda like the look, but its absolutely ridiculous wide open - picrel), the rest is Mitakon 65, processed in spektrafilm.

I sold my a6000 today and used some of the cash to buy my first AF lens, a Sony 85mm f1.8, to go with my recently acquired A7iii. It's a big deal for me because I've been using poverty-tier gear for so long - the aforementioned a6000 and a collection of cheap vintage glass of varying qualities. I'll still keep using my old lenses but it'll be nice to take photos with the 85mm and actually have shit saved in the exif data, plus sometimes it'd be nice to just be lazy and stick it in greenbox easy mode and not have to fuck around constantly with the aperture and focusing.
>>4520474Isn't a7iii the one with shutter problems?

>>4520241that's like some of the photos I take - They are specifically shot for my dual 19:6 monitor setup. To wit: picrelI've stopped posting my photos online since around 2017, because nobody bought any, even though I was part of an "Artists Group" which sold "art" , I became demoralized because nobody seemed to like my photos and nobody irl ever criticized them, and now, I just take photos for myself - or anons. I choose to remain anonymous at this point.
>>4520672It's nice to get praise or criticism sometimes but if you become too fixated on the little dopamine hits from social interactions then it gradually sucks the joy out of it, same with any hobby.
>>4520673>It's nice to get praise or criticismI got neither - it was like I didn't exist.
>>4520672Do people buy photos online? How is this business supposed to work?
>>4520676well, they do, but I was trying to sell them irl. Actual framed and matted prints.
>>4520672if youre in it for the money, youre doing it wrong
>>4520678I actually bought some painting prints and my
boyfriend
made me buy a photo of some kind of Japanese temple. But then that was from a professional print shop, they make large prints on various papers, glue them to a backing, etc.
>>4520697I like this photo. I like the subject, the composition, and the choice to go panoramic. I do have some suggestions...
>>4520672>because nobody bought anyOne thing that can help put things in perspective, is to remove yourself from the photos and think about them from the perspective of a random customerDo you photos really stand out from others putting out similar work? Why should someone buy your photo, as opposed to someone else?I don't mean this in a your photos bad way, but just an outside perspective way.>>4520674In the same mindset of above, how often do you buy others photos or give unsolicited feedback or criticisms of other photos? Most people just don't bother unless directly asked, and I bet most of us here are similar.>>4520698This is worse
>>4520699>In the same mindset of above, how often...yeah, I guess that's human nature.like the photos on this board for example.I either like them or I don't.I think there's too many 'snapshot' photos though.I wouldn't know where to start (or re-start) showing my photos. I wish I could re-boot the entire sequence of events.
>>4520701why are you focused on other people seeing your photos? all this "showing my photos" bs. you need to shoot for yourself.
>>4520716because I have no voice
>>4520719>because I have no voice>boohoo waah I have no voiceYou sound fucking insufferable, you miserable self-centred wretch. Why is it so important to "have a voice"? Do things because you want to do them, throw your art out into the world because you can, and don't worry about whether people see it and interact with it or don't. It's out there either way and even if you're just screaming into the void with no response at least you're expressing yourself. If you're that unhappy about the lack of human interaction then go do some street photography and talk to the people you shoot, or just put the camera down entirely and go make some friends. If you're wanting a pity party then a Botswanan basket-weaving forum is the wrong place for it. If you're wanting to chast 'clout' or what the fuck ever to get your ego massaged then go join Instagram or some other peurile social media site. Quit being a fucking debbie downer.
>>4520732>Mongolian basket-weavingFTFY
>>4520634I like this>>4520484All of them have shutter problems. The trick is to refrain from sticking your fingers in them.>>4520424Impressive>>4520415I love trains. These are a nice set.
>>4520719>because I have no voicePerhaps... and this is purely speculation... perhaps you DO have a voice and it's been heard. And disregarded. Has your voice said anything worth hearing?

>>4521096thank you anon, but what's wrong with the horizon? apologies if it should be obvious
Do you any of you guys have portfolios? I plan on making an instagram account, but I don't plan on getting any views or likes, just something that's accessible to share with people or maybe for someone to randomly discover
>>4521101The angles just seemed a bit... off.
>>4521104The X.com photography community doesn't suck. It's a decent place to dump your work, has a nice highlights section, and if you want to start interacting with other photographers, it's a great sanity check in case your head starts to get too big. There's some insanely good photographers there.
>>4521106I think the building is on a hill, anon.
>>4521109I've never heard of anyone ever using twitter for photos, only instagram or some random niche site. I am a bit skeptical with it's overall reputation though
This place was interesting. It’s on the coast outside of Kumamoto in Kyushu. They built this road-to-nowhere to help with the cultivation of seaweed and the entire area is a huge tidal flat. I nearly ate shit multiple times walking on the very slippery asphalt.
I took random pics of birds during my sister's wedding. Wanna put my Nikon D3500 with the 300mm lens to good use.
>>4521232It’s an American robin, assuming you’re somewhere in North America
>>4521237BC, exactly. Here's a Marsh Wren chilling at the lake shore. They're tricky to get a decent shot since they fly off before I shoot.
I was sick of my boring photos, so I took the Ren Kockwell photo editing course. Who cares what the scene actually looked like, I can show the vivid colors that only a Canonâ„¢ camera can capture!

I'm new to photography and editing in generalI tried making this daytime photo seem like it was take during the night but it didn't work outI can't tell how to fix this, however
>>4522086Tough news, but go back at night. Photography means legwork and driving. Staying up late or getting up early. Finding the right light at the right place.
Took this week from a study about slow shutter speed and panning
>>4522178
nothing really to remark on i guess, just experimenting with variable ND and exposure lengths. Probably shoudlnt have done this at twilight but whatever
>>4522191Would look nice if you focused on the street lamp instead of the rock

>>4522194i liked the rock more tho ;_;
>>4521388> The composition is good, but it falls apart under the loupeThis was shot from a moving vehicle going over a bridge, and sadly, I had failed to set the SS acceptably high resulting in some unintended blur.

>>4522356I really like this one but I think you may have bumped the clarity or sharpened it too much?
>>4522441Sydney lookin pretty good this week
>>4522450Thanks, man! Clarity was at -9, texture at 15, sharpening at 91. I think the real problem was the texture being too high, but sharpening could be reduced also. Still trying to figure out landscapes.

>>4522821Absolute kino. I feel I should have hopped into the car to drive to the sea, must have been amazing to see such an eclipse sunset over the sea's horizon.Made a new /rpt/ thread as the current one is over image limit>>4523061
>>4522368what even is this
>>4523081Pretentious as all get out and a shallow use of Christian iconography
>>4522561Better. And, although flares are often bad in a picture, this one works since it supports the fact it was night. Now, work on your picture telling a story.
