Picrel what am I In for?
I'm going to Müller in the morning for paper
Then I was gonna spam the base shapes for like a month before moving to actually creating cool animals

I decided to not go with this
I'm different, I'm better. I'm gonna jump into the most complex possible shit and fuck it up, and after a few months of doing advanced models, I'll jump back and sweep up the basics, then I'll leap to the next plane naturally.
This is how you do it.
I'm better than you.

My plan is to jump into most advanced shit and just nail it perfect at first try.

I forget which guy said this, but it's ultimately just paper. Open it to a random page, and start folding. If your paper falls apart or you can't continue, start again or try something else.

Most of the models in that book require non-square paper, though, so it could get a bit annoying to cut the paper to the right size if you have to keep restarting.

I've had that book for over a decade and I finally got around to folding the violinist, so uh. Just start folding.
