I recall sitting on my couch looking at my phone when I first noticed it, pink crystal like structures glinting in my peripheral. Moments later it hit. I laid back and closed my eyes. A kaleidescope of neon lights highlighted by gold races by my minds eye. Visions and insights poured over me for hours. So many things snapped into focus. I found a new friend. Only once or twice per year for the next 20 I would repeat this. My deepest being a pointless 10g jaunt from which I got nothing useful but slack jawed melting of everything. I will say if you want the peak of the mountain, get 6 or 7g dried albino penis envy and hold on. It's going to be bumpy, but if you want the therapeutic shamanic ecstatic ride. That one hits hardest for me.

My wife has a very low tolerance for instance, it always takes her about half of what it takes most other people. Interestingly enough, the most powerful experience I ever had was from meditating while only on 3.5g of purple mystic. Spent months looking for an explanation to what I experienced, and eventually realized it was what theravada describes as the second jhana, a state of absorption where you lose all perception of/connection to your body and feel a calm joy. It was like the mushrooms literally turned off, complete mental clarity and all, then turned back on when I snapped out of it. Really drove home a powerful sense that my mind is not the self any more than my body is. That was over three years ago and I haven't tripped since. Now I pracice theravada and borrow a bit from tibetan dream yoga to make use of my time asleep. I feel like psychedelics have nothing more to offer me. Maybe my tolerance was high because had it not been I might never have moved on from that phase of life.

I've used most drugs, excluding primarily ibogaine. I don't take drugs anymore. The best drug I ever took was mescaline via a cactus. It's better than shrooms or DMT or LSD or whatever else. Mescaline has a particular solar, masculine, and grounded aspect which I never felt from any other drug.
