Why is maintenance so hard?
brownoids
because everyone's poor and it costs money just to maintain an ability to maintain shit
>>514798493they are a sea fairing nation
>>514798097>Called "FUNicular">Kills you
>>514798097There has to be someone to make maintenance, and the company that did it finished its contract at the end of August. New campaigns were launched in April to see what company would take the mantle, but it was later cancelled.
Simple: shit got outsourced to private company.Private company hires pajeets, saving money.Private company then bribes state oficial because it's cheaper than buying tools for aforementioned pajeets. Then the private company collects a fat check for performing "maintenance".Repeat for a few years until something like this happens. And don't forget:REPEAT THIS HUNDREDS OF TIMES MORE FOR EVERY CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE FUCKING COUNTRY FOR THE LAST DECADE.This summer we had 3 people die because the Ambulances that were suposed to bring them to the hospital... are broken down and in the mechanic for repair. FOR MONTHS.Why? Because someone's cousin got into the government, so he gets an exclusivity contract to handle ALL Ambulances in that region. What? José's garage is him and 2 morrocans who can't read? Surely they can handle the maintenance of 72 viatures. Here, have 8000€ a month!Thank fuck we're election a Military General to be president next election. Give it a couple more years and we'll have politicians hanging on street poles.
>>514798493Your people worship trains, Pratty
>>514799548It was canceled because the "wrong" companies sent their proposal. And the "right" company couldn't outbid every other.José's garage needs his money, and his cousin in the Ministry of Civil Engineering will make sure that the campaign is launched as many times as it takes for him to get it.
>>514799847>Thank fuck we're election a Military General to be president next election.Gouveia e Melo? I won't vote for a guy whose first supporters to openly declare for him are Freemasons.>>514799944Yeah... it's a sad reality. Having vital structures being run by incompetent cousins & nephews of mediocre politicians.
>>514799944You know too much. But that's how things work in here.
>>514798097it's hard for southerners because it's too hot for workso they don't
>>514800381> I won't vote for a guy whose first supporters to openly declare for him are Freemasons>Yeah... it's a sad reality. Having vital structures being run by incompetent cousins & nephews of mediocre politicians.Do you... not connect these two atleast?Gouveia e Melo wouldn't be my first pick either. I know what happened with those sailors in Madeira and that was grade A bullshit. And he's military, which I'm not a fun of either. On the other hand, right now, it's the only option we have besides electing the status quo. At this point, I'm willing to give ANYONE a chance if there's a chance they'll change anything at all. Heck, if they manage to piss the off the PM and assorted faggots around him, I'm gonna be down for that.I actually worked with a supposed anti-corruption committee local, and I can tell you it's all rotten from high up in the government down to the local level. We're talking many, many decades of hiring relatives and "friends" into positions they should never have been hired into, we're talking "We're not building a street here, those people didn't vote for us" kinda stupid petty shit. That's local power.Climb a few rungs on the ladder and you have million€ contracts being settled under the table, inspections and authorizations being signed on for... who knows what (you know what, and so does everyone). It doesn't get any better when you get to central government.I heavily dislike Chega's alarmist rhetoric, but there's one thing they're right on: we're in fucking danger, and something's gotta change soon. Can Gouvei e Melo do it? I'd give him 5% chance. Very low indeed, but it's better than the 0% the other candidates have.
And before the usual tribalistic natives get here:I don't give a shit about your political colour.Lisbon's Mayor (and the government) were PS (Left) for nearly 10 years, now they changed to the PSD (right) for more than 2 years. Shit's still fucked. Political parties and their bootlickers have exactly 0 effect on quality of life. The problem isn't in the people we elect, it's the people we DON'T elect that are fucking everything up.
>>514801122>>514801364stupid enough!er hick, go back to france
uma delicia
>>514801971If you mean the dumbfucks at Ergue-te! and assorted clowns, I'm not involved nor support their stupid shit.>hurr durr, 20 guys with guns are gonna enter government buildings and...Do what? Kill themselves after putting on a show, at best.I personally have no political representation in Portugal. There's no single Party I agree at least in a fundamental level that would warrant me voting for them. And besides the ideological component, the corruption is just too much. Politicians always stole and lined their pockets, nobody gave a shit as long as they did their job at least. Nowadays, they don't even do the MINIMUM their job requires.Gouveia has absolutely 0% chance of getting them to stop being criminal thieving little shits. But if he at least gets them to do their job, then we bought enough time to think a solution in the long term.
>>514798097>I want the XIX century rust bucket operational no matter what! ...>...While being "conservative" on costs (dont spend too much)Thats what happened. Fuck the right-wing mayor son of a bitch!
>>514802352enough!ers are the most corrupt of the lot, the admiral is also a corrupt freemason AND part of the status quo, he was in charge of making sure everyone got vaxxed ffs
>>514801971Just realized you actually meant Chega!'s party. The hicks are actually going for Ergue-te! believe it or not, Chega's fanbase is millenials with some capital and boomers mostly. And I told you, but you didn't read my post: not only I heavily dislike the clown circus Ventura puts up anytime he appears, I don't give a shit about Political Parties, including Chega!.They've never solved anything before and they're not gonna do it any time soon. Will Gouveia solve anything? No. The best we can hope is him getting a ton of incompetent people fired and pushed far from the government. That's it. That's the only "hope" we have. Heck, it might not even be enough to do anything. But beats shrugging our shoulders and accept that our political class has a collecting IQ of 76.
>>514798097I've been very busy recently. Is there a video of the crash or just those aftermath videos? Also how many died? Nationalities of victims?
>>514802704The corruption is never going away. Not in the short term (read, the next 100 years). The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can start thinking about the real problem:You can have corrupt people doing a good job. They'll line their pockets, help their friends but along the way, at least manage *most* of the public funds into hospitals/schools/public infrastrutcture.Or you can have corrupt AND incompotent people. Who only stop stealing and lining their pockets to mismanage away public funds, millions at a time into dead-end projects that never end or never amount to anything while neglecting critical infrastructure.I've come to terms that we can only choose from the first or the second. Gouvei is the first. Montenegro, Carneiro, Ventura, they're all the second.
>>514803127you idiot, I said enough!ers are the MOST corrupt, and they lack proper connections. if you want shit to get done despite the corruption, you have to vote for the payass, they have the most elite contact list, meaning they're at least favoring competent companies for big works. the current government only benefits hicks with legacy money and landlords. the admiral is zogbot incarnate and therefore untrustable.
>>514802908There are a few videos roaming around showing the immediate aftermath. None of the crash as it happened.
>>514803644>voting PS to get anything doneThey were in power for a fucking decade. What did they get done?Oh right, they bust open our borders and flooded us AND europe with unemployable inbred retards. Great. Maybe we should elect them for 10 years again, I'm sure their connections will help a lot.Cost was a stubborn idiot surrounded by idiots. And when he was pressure to fire the idiots, rather than admit he fucked up hiring them, he doubled down and protected. He was pridefull idiot and mined the government with retardation for a decade. Pedro Nuno Santos was the exact samething with a bit more angst. Now we got Montenegro, the humble country-side hick elected to a higher purpose, representing the poor people and about to sav- oh wait, no. He also has "connections" and is corrupt as fuck. So much for that."Connections" is a vague indicator of quality but a good indicator of corruption.I'll vote for the guy that can tell these idiots to fuck off. After that, Gouveia can fuck off himself too.
The most honest politician we had turned out to be a dictator and even he, Salazar, had to bend the knee to the economic elites of his time, THE SAME elites that rule this country as of today. It's a small country and there's no space for competition.
>>514803127Well, you're an android meant to simulate human behavior.
>>514805044Payass 2 has shit connections. Payass was *this* close to getting started on shit the country needs, but they booted them out because muh immigration, a literal nothingburger
