I did 10 days for DUI on the weekends one time.

I was the only white guy showing up for jail for the weekend.
In the other line was all of the girls and there was not a single black or brown girl in line. 100% white.

Craziest shit

>10 days for DUI on the weekends one time.
Jesus. I paid a 300 dollar fine and did 32 hours of community service, plus 2 years probation.
What'd you blow?

I paid like $2500 total for mine. Had to had a breathalyzer for a year, but the DUI was sealed so I'm grateful for that
>>
>>514837885
Does that include the cost of the breathalyzer? Mine was in 2011 so maybe things weren't quite as strict or something
>>

-Lawyer: $1000 (I got a military discount)
-$300 in court fees
-$100/month*12 months = $1200
I was already in Rehab by the time between my DUI and court date ( the military paid for it, and I got paid while I was there).

I didn't even go to jail, I went to a drunk tank for a total of 6 hours, and then the cop let me out with my summons.

I also didn't get in trouble with the military

This was in 2013, almost 10 years ago

October-November 2015* is when I was in rehab

What happens if the Tesla self driving is driving but you’re drunk? A DUI, I’m sure, but is it morally justified? The autopilot is a better driver than sober humans.
>>
>>514838842
They're after your money first and foremost, of course it'd be a DUI. Hell, in my state you can get a DUI if you're drunk with your keys on your person while also being within 50ft of a car.

>>514837215
duey is usually a girl crime
>>
>>514837215
Imagine showing up for jail.
lol...lmao even.
>>
>>514837215
Have driven drunk 100 times, and pulled over multiple times. Never gotten a DUI. Cops never even suspected. Get good nigga
>>
>>514839693
this post is why niggers end up getting arrested when they try to go on vacation out of state.
>>

Not a nigger.
I know my rights.
Come and get me.

Must have been a bad case or second offense
When I was in court one guy had like 5 prior ones and he got 30 days
>>
>>514839954

DUI sentencing is highly dependent on your state. In some states you’re almost certain to get some time. In other states you virtually never get any time on a first offense DUI. In many states, having five priors will actually get you years.
>>
>>514840146
I'm in MD, which is allegedly strict. One offense can get you a year. Multiple can get you like 4 years. First timers usually get conditional discharge but after that they start giving suspended or weekend sentences at least

Drinking and driving is just like anything: Retards that couldnt handle it ruined it for everyone. And now they act like it’s the worst possible crime.

I don’t want to go on a rant here, but they certainly treat DUIs harsher than taking underaged girls to a secretive island, filming them having sex with politicians, and using the tapes to blackmail them so they give US tax money to isreal.
>>
The easiest answer is just to stop drinking. I stopped and it’s much easier to just be able to drive to the party or concert or whatever and just drive home without worrying about Ubers or taxis or leaving your car overnight or just taking the chance and driving drunk.
>>
>>514840483

A lot of states have it codified that way where it’s a top-class misdemeanor (maximum sentence of one year) but then everyone gets a suspended sentence on the first offense pursuant to completion of some safe driving educational course and a fine. To me that seems draconian because you’re basically relying on the judge’s good will to follow convention and give you your suspended sentence. Imagine being the poor bastard who gets the judge that gives you a year on first offense.

cool blog man

>they act like it’s the worst possible crime

Who does? Most people literally don’t care about DUIs because they know that they’ve done it too but didn’t get caught kek
>>
>>514840916
Additionally it's well known that judges give harsher sentences around lunch time when they are hangry and there are numerous other examples of judges giving preferential treatment. People trust judges way too much

And what’s the demographics of your area/the jail. That comparison is likely to add value to your insight.
>>
I blew .23 in 2015 and it cost me 2500 after sentence, 5 years with breathalyzer (monthly syncs paid by me), they made me do a 800$ psychological test that i answered perfectly and they still made me fail (hence the 5 years machine). The car i had then cost too much to insure so i got a shitty sunfire with rusty holes everywhere. During winter everytime i drove and used windshield washer it made the breathalyzer panic and i had to stand outside my car and blow it right on the side of the highway (remember theres ungodly amounts of snow), it fucked my career since the police notified my employer and i couldnt go on career advancements courses anymore
If i fail one again im going in prison for 2 months and i lose my job since i work on the road

Dont drink and drive not worth the risk

Cops, MADD, SADD, etc.

“Legal limit” is bullshit. Some people can handle a 0.02 and some people can only handle a 0.002.

Furthermore, traffic violations really shouldn’t be a criminal offense and classifying going too fast or swerving as reckless endgangerment just because there’s a car involved is stupid. If someone is wearing too big shoes and falls into someone else and that person gets injured there’s no reckless endangerment or attempted murder just because he was wearing shoes that aren’t safe.

I don’t know. Just ranting. DUI hysteria.

Glad I’ve got autopilot in my model S.

Canada is legendarily harsh with DUIs. That sucks man.

Yeah some states treat it worse than actual violent crime.
