Everyone is a goddamn veteran, go check some Twitter profiles. As if serving slop in a mess tent for 6 months should guarantee respect for the rest of your life. People who do this are just coasting on borrowed glory instead of building anything new, they have never cultivated anything after their stint in the military.
>>
>>515120488
Speaking as a vet, you're quite right that most vets aren't heroes. They aren't really trained to be that though. They're mostly pack animals who live in a tent if they're told to. If you're that jealous, just go enlist and get some of those gibs yourself. You'll be disappointed. Vets get salutes but they still don't get jobs when they come home.

Baby factories always come first. If we lose a war...blame the baby factory who thinks everyone else owes them, not the dumb vet who lost his weekend liberty to put on a faggot parade for a politician.
>>
>>515120488
a real Vet is only one with combat experience.
the rest is just a wagie
>>
>>515120488
Thanks for the 4k a month goy. My 4 years as a Sax Player in the Army Bands sure was traumatic. The Drill SGT gave me PTSD, the marching hurt my back and knees, doing funeral honors gave me the big sad.

I am 32 and basically get paid to play videogames and be a dad. I work 3 12s because I get bored being around the house but I don't have too
>>
>>515120488
i have never been in tweeter
>>
>>515120488
We should take away their benefits. We shouldn't have to pay since the government shouldn't be taxing people property values anyways. That money could pay for more federal agents
>>
nobody told you to respect vets. You're just peer pressured to.
>>
>>515121045
I unironically agree. I would give up all my benefits to live in a White high trust society, but while we live in nightmare weimar 2.0 I am going to get me NeetBucks.

VA disability is like the only decent option for White Men to get Neet Bucks
>>

When I came back from the first Gulf war, i always said that. Then again, I was on a ship and the guns weren't going to play favorites in a shooting match. Really though, I was hanging off the coast of Libya, not in the active war zone. We just were there to stop any missiles that might get launched at Israel. I'm just a sissy.

Running a war is all about morale. Morale for the troops at home, the ones overseas, and the civilians who are paying for it all. About the only morale killer I know is to turn the service into a jobs program for homosexuals who aren't going to stop shopping for booty and everyone knows it.
>>
what's the purpose of a paying taxes if the state only exists to fund the police (protecting elite interests from internal threats) and the army (protecting elite interests from external threats)?
>>
>>515120967
You're right. The military pays 50% more to baby factories and give them far better housing. If you join at 18, by age 32 you might be an E-7 or more and you will probably get a duty station assignment far closer to your home.

...say it with me... JOBS PROGRAM.

I'm a veteran too. Can you give me a quick roman salute to honor me?
>>
>>515122188
Well....maybe they are or maybe they're not. Not unlike /pol/ where everyone is a programmer making over 100k a year. Just deal with it.
>>
>>515122046
it was the best move on the board for me, can't blame me for taking it when I was a homeless at 18 bc my parents "weren't raising a freeloader"

I hate boomers, but as much as I logically hate ZOG, it basically gave me pension in my 20s and paid for my house. I get 4k a month, my house is half way paid off and my mortgage and utilities are 1700 and than I make 60k a year at my other job working 3 days a week.

It is a comfy lfiestyle

At a small company where I once worked, there were three employees who had been special operations forces, meaning combat experience almost guaranteed. I only knew because others told me, they never brought it up themselves. The ones who actually carried the heavy load don’t need to advertise it. They know what they did and don't need anyone's validation or admiration.
>>515123362
How the fuck do I make 60k with three days a week? I want that.

Riiiighhht. I do hope you have some idea of just how many lifestyle probabilities are totally off the mark for anyone in the military.

If any real vet falls for it, it's on them. For the rest of us, and I don't particularly care about my generation. They'd have retired years ago. Why are you wasting my time, trying to come up with a lie that you think you can sell?

Personally, I just get VA healthcare. No pension because I didn't put in 20 years and I did work with a 20 year vet who got riffed and his pension was not enough to live on 5 years ago. That's your first reality check failure.

Secondly, I inherited about 1M over the last year and I don't expect you to believe me but there it is. No stress other than the usual crap coming from baby factories. My house isn't paid for because I don't have to pay it off. I earn more interest on my mutual fund than I pay on the loan that was refinanced at 3.5 percent. That's the second reality check that doesn't fly.... Utilities at 1700? Wow!

Now, the rest that is going to be ignored. Unless you're committing crimes for a defense contractor or China, it's just silly.

You're just an 18 year old who is angry because he dropped out and it's everyone else's fault. Right?

Sixty thousand is probably about the national average for a family income in the US. Trolls just do what they do.
>>
>>515120488
I have come to hate the word "Veteran". Oh you peeled potatos on the Army for 4 years and now I owe you something. I don't give a fuck if you were in the military.
>>
>>515124527
I am going to lie as a person who has bought expensive things to simply exist, my VA pension isn't a lot, but once those things are paid off, it helps a lot more. It keeps life stable if nothing else.
>>
>>515124527
I live in rural Ohio. My mortgage with my VA loan on a 200k home with 3 acres is 1.7k

I had some training injuries documented I used to get a 100% VA rating. Also had some legit tough times in the army, roommate killed himself, I had a concussion, tore my shoulder, ect. On my 3 12s I work as a Physical Thearpy Assistant. Plan on going to PT school proper and trying to go my own way with that.

>I inherited a cool 1 million
Sure dude.
I don't know what is so unbelivable about VA disability. you know how many fucking POGS get 70-100% ratings for basically nothing? Why the fuck should I do 20 years when I can get 100% after just 4 for 4.2k a month with my wife and kids?

I'm a fucking retard and I figured it out.
I also absolutely could raise my family with the 50k I make once the house is paid off. I drive a shitbox, I cook every meal, I garden, my only expensive vices are my 3k gaming computer and my 5k piano.
>>
>>515125489
No, really. I did get that but it was from 3 separate inheritances. My parent's generation finally hit the wall. Two came from aunts and uncles and one of them was worth about 17M and it was spread out among my generation.

By my math, that would let me live on about 90k a year until my mid nineties. It's upper middle class, not super rich. I'm not trying to be rude but if you don't have it, you don't have it so I try not to be an elitist prig. I spent most of my life among plain old folk.

I don't get that high a rating, just a small boost for being in the Iraq war zone during a certain time period. My truck is a 2005 Tacoma that still runs well. No piano but there's no point in retiring if you can't have a few vices.
>>
>>515125489
The anti pog shit is stupid because Navy engineers deal with hazards you'd expect to see in a horror film and barely have any training to deal with it. If I could go back, I would have joined the Marines or Army.

People are trying to demonize veterans because the government doesn't want to pay them. Liberals even more so.
>>
>>515126233
I was an Army Reservist before I was a Navy computer tech. Army is good on morale but bad on promotions. They get what they can with the money they spend.
>>
>>515126419
it's all a ploy to avoid accountability en masse
>>
>>515126466
You can hit E6 in your first contract in the Navy, but it's usually rates where people are getting cut in haf and shit from machinery or mentally breaking down. I heard a story of one person making Chief in 4 years by joining as an E3. On the other hand, if you do some computer tech shit, you will almost certainly not be promoted, you wil possibly hit the fleet as an E5 and be stuck there for like 10 years, it's unironically better to be a stupid rate like Yeoman or something.
>>
>>515126311
That's the point, the vast majority of vets did mundane bureaucratic work, they don't deserve any special treatment. They need to move the fuck on and accomplish more things. They act as if they have completed life.
>>
>>515126815
People who retire after 20 are usually those people.
>>
>>515120488
OF COURSE ITS A BLACK NIGGER
>>
>>515126775
Well... in my rating, we got push-button e-4 out of school. I'm a good test taker so when I got on my first ship, they wouldn't even let me take the test at the first opportunity. (probably not legal) None the less, I had plenty of time on balls to 4 watch for study so I nailed the exam and made E-5 right away... pissed the entire dept. off! I wasn't trying that hard to make E-6 because I was burnt out and took commands on things other than grey ships after my first station on a flag command ship. Don't bother with anything other than standard issue destroyers. They'll burn you out every time to keep the deck seamen from feeling picked on.
>>
>>515125489
I should note that I thought you were talking as if you had all those things as an active duty serviceman. HIGHLY unlikely to even be able to keep a second job under those circumstances.

For my part, I did resent the perks that married men got, but I would be pathetic to deny a vet on disability the right to have a family. Not the best job to have if you expect to give the family top priority.

As for "POGS" I'm not familiar with the term, but my friend "Urban Dictionary" suggests "fat women", I don't think we can have a military without some women but when it comes down to it, it's a morale killer if they all run off and get pregnant as soon as a war starts. The rest is up to the service to handle, but they tried to keep women out of places where discipline would get screwed up with kids looking for booty. Politicians had to turn it into a jobs program anyway.
>>

>would be pathetic to deny a vet on disability the right to have a family.
A right that shouldn't require one to be a vet, frankly.
>>
>>515126193
>It's upper middle class
No it isn't. It's solidly middle class. You'd have to exceed 150k to be "upper middle".

POGs is "persons other than grunts", and it basically means paper pushers and support roles that don't deal with the front line physical work.
>>
>Disabled veteran
You know there's actually entire institutions set up to establish how disabled a veteran really is... And they can get pretty fucking incredible benefits if they're actually disabled.
I know the VA is shit for most people, but my dad got 100% disability, and they even gave him back-pay to the date he first applied.
He actually did 3 tours in Vietnam though, so he wasn't just in it for the college money and benefits.
>>
>>515132248
Ah. As a Navy guy, that's kind of muddy.
>>
>>515132266
I don't doubt it, but the results can very with different economies. I just approached this thread from the idea that kids think we'd all be faking it.

My cynical side says that they're angry because they have a history of prescribed medications for autism that probably is just a latchkey upbringing but it's enough to keep them from getting in.
>>
>>515120488
Did four years in intel
Only applied for gibs cause was literal schizo.
I don’t feel like a hero but I feel like a vet that actually needs the gibs until I can figure out what to do next
>>
>>515133232
Extract whatever resources you possibly can from this system. It's a machine designed to syphon as much of your money as possible. The only way to win is to treat it the same way it treats you.
Think about it, your taxes go to propping up entire cities full of layabout niggers and spic breeding sows.
Every dime you take is a dime not allocated to a sheboon's section 8 apartment and enabling her 9th baby.
>>
>>515133673
I already feel this way these days, living in beanerville Florida sucks, this isn’t the state I grew up in. I go to gual mar and I’m one of the only white peope in the whole store. Looking to move to the Midwest where I can survive off of gibs and work a job just to get ahead.
>>
>>515120488
they are all welfare queens
>>
>>515120893

I'm kinda of the same opinion. And the fact of the matter is that most people do not sign up out of duty to their country. They sign up because they're 18 and some recruiter just told them they can get $25k sign on bonus, and college paid for if they survive their 4 years.

These people have independent thought beaten out of them so they will follow orders. I can't even think of any war we've been in that was actually justified in defense of the US.
