When Kentucky Ballistics had that exploding sniper's shrapnel tear open his neck, he said he plugged the leak by jamming his thumb into the whole plugging the blood vessel
I imagine that was a vein right? Cuz if you plugged an one of these arteries youd pass out from lack of blood to brain right?
Whats a scenario where you survive a neck stab long enough to hospitalize, say ~10 minutes? Can i pinch the leaky artery and hope to not pass out?
In light of recent events we should all educate ourselves a bit more.
>>
The whole point is to stop the bleeding. Sticking a thumb in is closing a wound and hoping the blood will find the other end of the artery. Take their clothes and shove it in the wound or use a credit card and press it over the hole.

You would need to reach into your neck and try to locate and pinch your artery, slippery with your own gushing blood, closed in 3 seconds or less. You will not do this. You will instead by shocked by the impact and not even understand that your artery has been severed, you will not feel any pain because of the adrenalin, then you will be unconscious, then you will be dead.
>>
He got scraped otherwise he would be dead.
>>
>>515298999
He said it was a small nick. Not severed. If it's severed, it will retract and you're fucked no matter what, unless you're in an OR.
>>
>>515298999
Bro, they are hardly any Niggers in Croatia, no need to become a combat surgeon, you are shit out of luck anyway if someone decides to stab you in the throat.
>>
>>515298999
If only one carotid was hit you need to do whatever you can to get full closure on the artery, ideally sutured and evacuate the injured.

Your interior carotids supply and jugulars evacuate blood from the brain, a wound or suture to either increases chance of stroke and seizure.

Oh that’s cringe, I never thought about shit moving because lost tension, just blood flooding everywhere.
>>
Stuff like this only happens with microlacerations. An actually cut corotid is instant death.
>>
>>515299965
Well thats fucking bleak. It retracts too?
Gotovo je.
>>
There was a hockey goalie who got saved this way back in the 90’s if you wanna look it up. The trainer dude was apparently some Vietnam medic and he quite literally dug his fingers into the goalies neck and pinched an artery shut or something like that?
>>
>>515298999
there is more than 1 artery to the brain. if you block 1 the blood will flow through the others

if you can block the offending artery, you should survive, is it ideal? no, but its certianly better than all of your blood ending up outside your body in a few minutes.

>neck stab wound
arteries in the limbs can take a tourniquet, nothing you can do about an artery on the torso shoulders or neck without a surgeon, and you don't have much time. mere minutes.
>>
>>515298999
It wasnt him, it was his father (the cameraman) that made him do it and strapped his hand around the neck so he wouldnt stop if he passed out while he was driving to the hospital.
>>
>>515298999
For the amount of blood she lost in just a few seconds it seems that the nigger got her in a major artery in the chest.
>>
>>515299772
>. You will not do this
Correct.
It's the same reason people die from autoerotic asphyxiation. They're unconciouscious before they even realized it's working them they can't the weight of the neck

Depending on what side it's in, you might want to be upside down while you're choking yourself out with a belt.
One side sents blood to the brain, the other returns it to the body

What are you responding to exactly?
Did you even reply to the correct post?

Yeah
Imagine a running garden hose with no one to hold it
Its surrounded by flesh of course, but not controlled by muscle, so it will slip down and inside

>he said he plugged the leak by jamming his thumb into the whole
he's 1 in a 100, who would even come up with that, in stress, before inevitably losing consciousness

I never seen him saying that. He has huge scars on his jugular

the scenario in which you're wearing a gorget -- armored neck protection
>>
>>515303195
It was his dad who did that. A Vietnam vet, I believe. He's also a former police or Sherrif's deputy, I think.
>>515303244
External jugular, not internal. No carotid either. Tissue damage doesn't always = deep circulatory damage.
>>
>>515298999
Carotid is instant death. Must be a very special hospital any near your locatuon suddenly who replaces your blood and make you alive but if so youve got a extremely news valuable story I guess.

In 10 minutes a lot can happen, I agree, but youre simply not conscious within seconds like the footage of Iryna showed earlier

They are trained to deal with the threat first, then render aid, but I doubt a Batt Boy sitting next to with ROLO, would have had time to locate the wounds, clamp the bleed or pressure dress, rig a buddy transfusion, just wasn't enough time. Not even time to comfort her. Certainly would have tried, but that strike was fait accompli.
>>
>>515303841
>External jugular,
that's still a death threat though. With how fast the Ukrainian girl lost consciousness, I would guess she was stabbed in the heart
>>
>>515301730
Not true, that relies on the circle of wilis being fully formed, which is 80% of humans it is not.
>>
>>515299772
>You would need to reach into your neck and try to locate and pinch your artery
No, you just apply pressure. How much pressure do you think it takes to close a vein, retard? You don't need to squeeze the fucking artery.
>>
>>515304152
He likely severed her jugular and cut her carotid. I saw blood by her left ear in a transverse direction towards the junction. No obvious carotid arterial spray. The knife wound likely channeled the stream all the way to her left ear. You can see it smudge her pants by the left knee.
>>
>>515304618
Its called clamping the artery. You see it in medical shows all the time.
