There hasn't been a social movement that has achieved its goals without violence in at least 75 years. The feds don't want you to start considering it as a legitimate option. "optics" and other bullshit just lets them wait you out because at some point even the angriest protestor has to go home because otherwise he'll starve to death. Violence gets the point across and there's no waiting it out.
