Then back to dorm, people freaking out hysterically because parents and friends worked there. Then they come down, watch with three others in dorm room. >>515422081No, it was real. I didn't find out until around five that evening, same time zone. My jaw was on the floor. I was screaming at the television blaming the CIA for dropping the ball. I was pretty naive at the time and thought it was a diversion for a first strike. I remember watching a female reporter running for her life in mid report on live tv from one of the towers collapsing and the camera crew hauling ass with her into a nearby diner to escape the clouds of dust and debris. I was scared enough when they reported the Atlantic fleet was ordered to change course eastward from the coast, presumably to fan out to look for enemy vessels. But the real terror hit when I had heard the Air Force were patrolling the skies over our own capitol city. That really fucking hurt. Im getting choked up just remembering that. I felt so defenseless at what might be coming. All indications at the time were that we were being attacked on our own soil from a foreign adversary for the first time and it was not clear who or what their intentions were except a lot of dead Americans.
