> my dad wants photos of the rifle... he says grandpa wants to know who has what, the feds released a photo of the rifle, and it is very unique. Hes calling me m, not answering.
Can any /gunfags/ tell me if there’s anything “unique,” about this gun?
>>
>>516301070
some kind of ww1 mauser with a modern stock, free float, and expensive af scope.
>>
The scope is mounted pretty far back so it’s set up for a short person or it’s a really shitty scope
>>
>>516301070
well if that's an old war gun you would expect it to have a natural wooden stock.
it looks like painted wood or even plastic.
plastic was harder to get back then
>>
>>516301070
I would say the way scope mounted is very unusual, but I reckon its more about grandpa being able to recognize his own gun at a glance
>>
>>516301364
Kyle Seraphin (ex FBI whistleblower who's getting sued by Kash's gf for calling her a Mossad Honeypot) pointed out in the jumping off the roof footage that the rifle wrapped in a dark cloth gets slammed on the ground hard as he lands, possibly moving the scope
>>
>>516301321
Nah that barrel looks stainless
More like a cheap to mid level ruger or savage
But idk im not a bolt action expert
>>
>>516301070
No, just a dinky hunting rifle bought off the shelf at a gun store. There's millions like it.
>>
Everything about the damn thing is uncanny. I got into an argument about it on day 1 because I thought it looked like a Remington 700 but on closer inspection the Mauser m18 crowd is right, the bolt handle does look exactly like a mauser m18 but the back of the bolt assembly looks like nothing I can identify.
>>
>>516301607
it does look like a savage but isnt, the back is wrong. the stock is new composite aftermarket, not a fiberglass bed like old timers would have bolt gun. it looks like a redone grampa gun.
>>
>>516301688
I’m pretty the Mauser bolt was pretty much the most cloned bolt ever made.
To the point where they had to sue Springfield for it

Nothing. It's a fucking cheap-ass Mauser copy from China or something.
People keep confusing it with a K98 because that's the famous war-fighting infantry rifle but this is an M98. A sporterized hunting rifle. And you can literally order it in .30-06 becasue MURKA.
Of course regular Mausers are chambered in 7.92 mm.
>>
>>516301070
I'm not big on knowing all the ins and outs of guns from a blurry photograph. However, it is very odd to me how the scope is mounted. It's very low on the barrel, looks in the way of the bolt, and is mounted with what looks to be antiquated means. Most rifles have rails for the last decade plus. From the shitty resolution it looks like a wood stock painted black, which would track with the ghetto scope mount. A polymer frame would simply be to new not to have the modern rail system. Scope looks low powered and cheap, also tracks with potential ghetto paint job and shitty scope mounts. Also looks to small for the rifle. I have a 4x16 on my hunting rifle and it's one and a half times longer and taller. If I had to guess, it's a cheapy generic 3x9 scope that maxes out at about 200 yards.
The rifle itself at this angle looks like a single shot. Not anything crazy, but also not a great choice for assassination. You will almost always have the time to manually load a second shot to double tap any animal you get a shot on. Not so much with large groups of people.
Overall, a very impressive firearm. If it was my gun, it would probably never leave the safe.
>>
>>516301976
Yeah that's pretty common, though. Like I have a Remlin .22 whose bolt is basically also just a mauser clone bolt. The flare on the back end of the bolt assembly is what throws me off, though. Almost like a Zastava m48 but not quite that either but could point to a clone of a Russian design, post ww2 probably if they're copying german shit.
>>
>>516301070
It's an old military mauser with a new aftermarket plastic stock, a new barrel with no sights. The bolt has not been swept back and retains it's old military finish. A low safety has been added to clear the scope. Not a real fancy sporterization.
>>
>>516301070
He refers to his dad as “my old man,” like all people under the age of 65 do. You would know that if you kids weren’t so busy listening to you juke boxes at the soda fountain.
>>
>>516301868
Yeah a lot of grandpas sported out ww1 and ww2 bolt actions because it was cheaper than buying a new hunting rifle.
Thats funny though those rifles would be worth thousands of dollars now if they didn’t fuck with it.

Mausers are very rare in the US unless they’re historical firearms (Mauser 98, Kar98k, etc) which have a lot of appeal for being used in the world wars. I’ve personally never seen a modernized Mauser 98 in hunting rifle configuration like this. It has to be imported, most hunters in the US would just buy something like a Remington.

Well the accessories don't. But the rifle is literally an M18 which you can directly order from Mauser's website. It's the cheap-ass version of the M98.
Also the scope is mounted like utter ass too. And it's definitely no ZEISS optic.

If it's grandpa's rifle, it's probably some old Husqvarna or JC Higgins dropped into an aftermarket stock. I'm guessing Husky because they're notorious for splitting the original wood stocks at the wrist. Who knows what the scope was.... $2000 scope? Kinda doubtful but you never know.

Or just some custom job. There are millions of hacked up Mausers in the US. GIs brought them home by the truckload and then sold them for peanuts. >>516301070
Looks like a basic bitch hunting rifle, 26” barrel, top loading, no crazy customizations from this photo, $500-$1,000. Common scopes range between $200 to $3000 so it’s tough to say without knowing the brand. Also kinda looks like the scope rings are broken, or may just be the low res of the photo. Scope is definitely pushed back, front scope ring should not be making contract with the adjustment turrets. Could be the result of a fall/hitting the ground at the right angle.

Yeah, there's a billion contract mausers in the US though. Back in the 60s there were even gunsmiths that specialized in taking milsurp mausers and rebarreling them and sporterizing them. Reality is it's most likely one of the 10s of thousands of sporterized milsurp mauser action rifles, all of which would have unique markings that would make each firearm appear to be very individual. Sure it could be an M98, but I think that's less likely.

It’s a custom Mauser. Customs are actually fairly common but they’re all unique since obviously they’re custom. If you search around gun auction sites you’ll find gunsmith built custom rifles using Mauser parts. In this case it looks like the stock is unique and I guess maybe something about it being able to be disassembled although I don’t actually know the details about that. So if there’s anything “unique” about it it’s that: a custom build.

That’s what it is. They’re all over gun shoes and auctions here in Pennsylvania. Gunsmiths take Mauser parts and drop them into custom builds and sell them like that. Some are worth more than others probably. When they say the fun is unique beyond whatever scope that is, they could just mean it’s a custom built rifle by some gunsmith.

difficult to break down, and the official story would have to believe he broke it down to transport it in, broke it down again in the 2 second between shooting and running off the roof, and then supposedly reassembled it before discarding it.
You cannot possibly remove the barrel and reattach it and have it maintain accuracy.
also the scope is mounted extremely poorly.

A lot of the time they don’t start with the actual gun. It’s just parts. Every gunsmith has a room just full of fucking parts that can be cobbled together to make a custom gun.

right of course. and that it a modern-ish optic. You can see the vague integrated throw rod 3-9 markings? maybe 1-8?
here's a Temu one that looks similar (it's rare to see an optic with only 2 knobs, no?)
>>
>>516301321
>expensive af scope.
Eh, unless you have a way higher quality photo or a close up photo of the scope, I don't think anyone can tell what the brand or model that optic is, it really looks like a basic 3-9x scope that most boomers use for hunting.
The fact that the scope is mounted that far back giving you one of the worse eye relief and eye box setup, I'm going to assume its a cheap optic setup and was installed with little to no care in the world for a basic hunting rifle setup.
>>
>>516301364
Eye relief is basically a personal choice based on where you're willing to place your head on the cheek rest.
You dont even own guns, and you're an idiot. Keep your brainshits to yourself.

>>
>>516303588
It happened constantly. The fudds have extremely narrow ideas of what makes a proper hunting rifle. Replacing a bunch of the military hardware with very similar "hunting" hardware and rechambering it for a "proper" caliber is right up their alley, especially back when those were the cheapest guns you could get. My great-grandfather had a gun box full of mausers and they got beat to shit. Never cleaned, thrown back in the box still loaded, used to pry or prop stuff up out in the woods. They didn't respect the dirt cheap guns because they could get as many as they could ever want.

It's determined by the eye relief rating of the scope, and where your cheek weld is. different people have different sized arms and shoulder width, so each will have a slightly different sweet spot that is most comfortable for holding the rifle.

Comfort = accuracy as straining to hold a slightly off position introduces inaccuracy.

so if that’s true and not complete BS, let’s guess that grandpa already zeroed it for 100 yards. a typical 30-06 round out of that rifle will hit 3 -4 inches low at 200 yards if zeroed for 100. which means he was aiming for his head , not center mass. interesting, if it’s not completely fabricated texts

Century Arms International, totally no glowing relationship to the CIA used to arrange arms deals with countries where they got back a lot of lend lease and surplus guns handed down to 3rd world countries. Mausers among other things traded for newer guns. Lots of countries importers wouldn’t normally be allowed to touch. Likely a Centurion 98. They look all different because they’re just parts thrown together. Someone would recognize it because they’re all different.

> the US unless they’re historical firearms (Mauser 98, Kar98k, etc) which have a lot of appeal for being used in the world wars. I’ve personally never seen a modernized Mauser 98 in hunting rifle configuration like this. It has to be imported, most hunters in the US would just buy something like a Remington

You don’t know shit about hunters.
Everyone’s grandfather had a sporter rifle converted from military surplus.
Even if they had a nice Remington or Winchester in their cabinet, they never could resist a hundred buck conversion and tons were done on Mausers and Steyrs, besides the all 1903 Springfields that could also have been sportered back in the 50s and 60s… they were hundred buck rifles, and most of that was the scope because they government was dumping 1000 rifle lots at 8-9 grand at the time… the gun itself was under ten bucks to the companies making conversions
>>
>>516303467
It's probably a custom, who would put a good scope on it if it was a shitter. It looks pretty involved to convert one though.

>The scope for starters is in a weird place
Not really, its based on eye relief (the distance from the back ocular lens to your eye when aiming). The really cheap amazon specials have shitty eye relief which can vary a lot based on magnification level. One can have 2.5" relief, the other 4.5". Some long eye relief "scout scopes" can be 8 or 9" of eye relief to give the shooter more FOV and situational awareness when the glass is mounted so far forward.

A good scope like a nightforce or a Leupold mark 4HD has barely any shift in eye relief when adjusting power from min to max (3.6" to 3.9" over its full adjustment range from 4.5x to 18x power).

There's tons of mauser variants because it was by far the most popular bolt action rifle for militaries for decades. South Americans used them, Persians, Japs, etc. They're not particularly rare at all. Also, after the wars people could basically freely copy their designs and resell them under their own name (eg. Mark X) so you see a lot of those as well.
Nowadays they've gotten expensive to the point where a cheap piece of shit remington uncontrolled feet made of melty plastic is about the same price as a beat up mauser so people go for those. The mauser action is inherently more expensive to manufacture than others due to its controlled round feed capability amongst others, so it has fallen out of favor lately now that everyone is poor.

It’s also possible that’s where it was, bunch of noguns fags. Look at optimal scope placement for shooting prone. Your ejector makes sure the casing flys out the side, not directly up, so the scope ring being set over the ejection port is a nothingburger. That was an example off the chart, I didnt check Kirks exact angle. The point was the ballistic trajectory is barely affected by elevation at that distance.

>>516305417
>so you think he was aiming for the head , but the shot was just not the best shot , and he was probably not prone , potentially crouched and full of adrenaline
Exactly. at this close a range human error > all other sources of innacuracy.
windage, elevation, etc ar an inch or fractions of inches at close range on a calm day. But "first time shooting a man and being out of breath from climbing on a roof" is the biggest factor. Bullet could have gone anywhere, or grazed him.
>>

I think he was center mass and probably shaky as fuck. As soon as you aim at an animal head you think what will happen if you're off and the temptation to just aim for chest and have margin of error is pretty strong.

He wasn't a gun guy otherwise he'd use his own gun and he'd also use a more accurate round like 308 or sneedmoor

Naw it's always fucking idiots who've never even shot a pellet gun who think the 1 sentence drivel from a news report informed them.

You WANT a sight to be as far back as possible for the minimum possible difference of angle between the barrel and the sight picture.

not sure that’s accurate. I mean your jsut guessing or going with the worst case scenario . what’s your experience studying 30-06 exit wounds at 130 yards on human torsos ? if no experience that’s fine.

30-06 diameter is 7.62 mm in diameter

least case scenario exit wound is going to be .2-.5

Mid-range (common for soft-point or if the bullet yaws/tumbles or produces more cavitation) : .6 - 1.6 inches

High / worst reasonable range (bullet fragments, expands, strikes bone, or causes large cavitation/irregular tearing) 2 inches -4.5 inches +

It's not difficult to aim for the head at 150 meter, not with a fucking scope. Tyler was probably adrenaline rushed, shaky, poorly rested (the gun shooting position), and made a mistake when pulling the trigger like clenching or anticipating recoil. Clenching when firing pulls a gun in and down.

different depending on what you're doing. On something you're clearing rooms with you'd want it further forward, because:
a.) you're going to be too stressed to look down it properly, having it further forwards gives you a more natural way to use the rifle (it's not as optimal optically, but makes more sense if you consider other factors)
b.) a lot of people bang themselves in the eye due to recoil if it's too far back

A piece of meat on a table is not a person, a deer is not a person, hunting cartridge type X is not like cartridge type Y, and finally, ballistic gel overrepresents what happens in a real body.

Go watch videos comparing fmj, jhp, otm, softpoint, ballistic tip hp, and ballistic tip softpoints.
If the bullet hit his spine and was a fragmenting type it might have disintegrated. The spine is the strongest fucking bone structure in the body. Note, you hopeless autist, i didnt say its the strongest bone in the body. Strongest bone structure.

that's what the hole in his neck is. The exit hole of a smaller round. My theory is a sub .300blk could do that and be masked by the patsy shot really easy. It doesn't need a long barrel to maintain rotation and if it's a suppressed bolty a sneeze is louder. but it would make the kid in white shirt flinch twice, and the kid in black shirt raise his hand to ear if they were close enough to it

ok i understand what you are saying. Yeah because when you freeze frame a different angle he makes the hydrostatic bloated austism face first (bullet enters somewhere, starts causing cavitation ) and then the neck wound appears after making me assume the exit wound was the neck wound.

Because all these idiots are impulsive that they just shoot with fmj target ammo. Goes right through if it doesn’t hit anything. Even hydrostatic shock is overrated because a lot of the tissue pulls back to its original shape. Also without actually being there it’s hard to know exactly what angle he was facing at that moment to the shooter. People need to stop with the retard camera gun theories, if Mossad wanted to do it they just influence some impressionable young dumbass groomed by his spook uncle at a very young age. the bullet impacts (somewhere , but i don’t believe from the left side of his neck ) and his face swells and her makes like a “sperging out “ expression . thats what i meant , and i assume its a mix of cavitation/hydrostatic shock destroying tissue and what not , and the wound from the neck seems to occur after.

Shooting a chunk of meat is a completely different scenario than shooting a person.
Shooting just a head is a completely different scenario than an intact body.
You can't compare the effects. They are different ballistic situations.

On top of that, we would need to know the exact ammo the shooter used to even attempt a replication.
Also take into account, Charlie Kirk was a fucking huge guy. 6 foot 5, kept himself in decent shape too.

What I'm curious about is how the shots were synchronized. Would hand signals really be enough, or did they have a computer relay detect the sound of the blank and trigger the kill shot?

Guns are an enigma. You can't predict what will happen every time based on some video of one situation.
I am far and away not a ballistics expert, but what I have read and seen from ballistics experts, the idea you should have is "we can only tell what happens after it happens and by investigating that single event, we can't make guesses based on circumstanstial evidence."

I have a hard time confirming that, because his shirt pops up in a bizarre way and covers the wound location (whether it's there or not) at the same time the black thing moves

If they can't pin it on anyone, than people will copy it and kill CEOs or the 1%.
Easier to proof that you did it with Videos, to intimidate other people too.

Different every time, so many factors go into it. Explodes completely, other times it blows a piece out the back, and sometimes it goes right through. Guntubers shoot hours of footage and keep the best, real life range day isn’t even like jewtube range day. Shot an apple with 556 that went straight through, shot another with 17hmr that vaporized in a splatter of apple parts.

>Can any /gunfags/ tell me if there’s anything “unique,” about this gun?
its too long to fit in the bag he walked in and escaped with
it was also wrapped in a towel when it was thrown in the wood but this picture is it neatly placed in a box on grass that is clearly from a yard/gardened area.
aka its not the gun that the shooter used
>>
