However, there are a lot of right leaning messages in anime and manga. The Japanese are also naturally proud of their country and their entertainment tends to value individualism. All of this is the real reason it spiked in popularity so much. It is kind of funny to see a bunch of trend chasing leftists try to work around this fact.
