Doesn't matter if PPP or nominal, when both numbers are fake as fuck. All economic metric are classified and numbers that are given to IMF or World Bank are obviously fake. No way inflation is 9.9% when interest rates are 17%-20% for last 3,5 years.

Even BRICS' bank advises against any investments in Russia, which literally means that Bank which is in 20% controlled by Russia, doesn't trust any economic data given by Russia.

Theoretically should be booming because you're at war. However it's dying, like literally. Pic very rel.

First half of 2025 Russia became food net importer, first time since 1990s.
>Our whole arms industry.
Which is all literally blown up in Ukraine, giving no net benefits to Russian economy.

That consists of like 26 satellites in total.

You mean shadow fleet of old Greek tankers that are unacceptable technical condition according to anyone?
>Power plants

You're little ahead of yourself.

No, enough of nastiness, I undestand that GDP isn't foreign trade and Russia still has 140 million people that do something and generate some capital (like in every other country). My point was that it's impossible to estimate this GDP because all economic data is classified or falsified. Showing any IMF or World Bank stats is useless because these institutions operate on what's given to them officially by each country. If North Korea ever gave them numbers that Norks are world's 1st econony PPP, they would just publish it as well.

With no foreign control, quality of these goods will only decrease until them become unrecognizable. Fries in Mc Donalds were made with imported (Polish), high-starch potatos, but when Mc Donalds was replaced by V&T they started making fries with local, more waxy potatos. Fries became more soggy, but it was detail. Then another detail and another...

What's happening to Russia is what was happening in most countries of ex-commiebloc. Enforced autarky mashed together with central planning and control on smaller and smaller stuff. Since best buddy of your leader is Kim Jong Un, means your country will end up more like North Korea than like Yugoslavia.

Run.

Youre right, but this was for the first half a year when mcdonalds was replaced, now its fully replaced by the same crispy potatoes like before, we just took your potato variety and started growing it specifically for V&T, you have VERY outdated info, but it seems you like to live in your own bubble

Places like McDonald's have always been shit. We actually had one in town (even before the war) but it couldn't compete with the local cafes and bakery. The same goes for shit like cola. Even without cola substitutes, we had kvass and чepнoгoлoвки which usually took up way more space on the shelves
This all reminds me of 2014 when everyone panicked that we wouldn't be able to eat imported food and would be forced to eat trash but everything turned out fine in the end.

Newest info on potatoes is that Russians ate all Belarusian potatoes and are out of theirs. Western varieties of high-starch potatoes are out of reach, because Russian government banned import of western seeds (not just of potatoes) as means for autarky. Oldschool method of potato breeding (with tubers instead of seeds) is very ineffective in modern farming.

If you say you have crispy potatoes then it sounds like a cope. Or that you should just eat these fries while you still can because it seems they won't be for long.

An iPhone is a trinket, like a oass into not poor people territory. Some are posers and some arent but they all try to look like they're in.
However somebody pays the €2,000 for the trinket so the gdp is real. The thing you dont understand is that the money changed hands and products were exchanged, its not a bookkeeping trick. And this is why per capita matters and here's where your narrative fails: you cant buy nice shit with aggregate numbers, just with per capita. And Russia (and China and others) are very low in these charts, nominal or ppp. Lower than Romania and obviously lower than Poland.

It's a bookkeeping trick because unlike money, physical quality is accurately measurable.
And from material properties, iphones don't cost more or less money to manufacture compared to its competitors. They use the same LiIon batteries, the same ips/oled matrizes, the same copper patch antennas. A society switching to iphones won't suddenly be more wealthy or more successful.

First communism fucked over the country.
If you go to rural areas, there is plastic all over the place, within ground, under the fields.. They really don't have any concept of environment or long-term thinking, you just use the ground and when it's polluted you go to somewhere else.

Then after communism russia went into some sort of turbo-capitalism, where you can buy anything. You can literally hire killers and then buy your way out of prison, everything is regulated by money and money only.

But the main problem is, that economy and the state are intertwined deeply. This means, that every profit doesn't actually help a company so it can get re-invested somewhere. Instead russian politicians get richer and richer.

Also you don't really have a free market, at least not for important stuff, since the accumulation of power leads to maxxing out profits for the greedy politicains and effectively prevents market from regulating itself.

Nope. Belarus no longer exports potatoes to Russia.

The money is still being paid and a product delivered. Its a free market and nobody stops the customer from buying tsingtao. Ergo its not a bookkeeping trick. Such a trick would be to claim that a phone that costs €100 is written down as 200 or such but this it is not the case yet.

Plenty of reasons, like German chem engineers perishing at age of 40 because of many places now having dogshit standards with the obsession of pumping out papers for quantity instead of quality. All while not sustaining reproducibility or good SI. A wider academic problem to be frank, US is alike in the latter but better in the slightly better in the form, and Asia is often monstrously worse (Thanks India/China) in both regards.

The bookkeeping trick is to pretend a $200 phone is twice as good as a $100 one. That's why there's a fundamental flaw to count money while comparing an economy.

Simple example, apple banned payments in Russia. Can't download banking apps. Android didn't, and as a result it's technically a better product.

what happened to German's economy btw? Why are you in recession for the 3d year?
>The country, which had been considered to be Europe's economic powerhouse in prior decades, became the worst-performing major economy globally in 2023 with a 0.9% contraction, followed by further 0.5% contraction in 2024 leading to recession[1]. Several economists, business figures, and other experts expressed concern that Germany's economic downturn could cause the nation to reclaim its reputation as the "sick man of Europe" from the 1990s.[2][3][4] Economists stated that Germany's economy was in a permanent crisis mode, with the Handelsblatt Research Institute declaring that it was in its "greatest crisis in post-war history" after projecting a third consecutive year of recession in 2025.

Lol idk what part of "beef" you are struggling to understand?

And I generally dont think much of any factory farming but hogs have always been slopped. The farm I grew up on had a large hog operation until it went to high volume factory in the mid 90s. The classic more rustic way of raising hogs was to just pen them up in a swamp or a stream in the woods and feed them a grain crop from time to time.

But I don't doubt that there are bad practices in these industries. However, I also believe this is not unique to any high volume producer in the world.

True, but once again, how many Midwestern white trash have that? Most are too interested in meth and tattoos and unprotected sex.

To be fair, my dad has "roots" in the regard of having ancestral land. But guess what, that land will probably not ever be mine. It will be sold when my dad ks forced to or he dies, and I will receive nothing from it. I'll be "rootless" like I am now. It's his "roots", not mine, not ours. Again I think the western powers were light on Russia after the Soviet collapse. Listening to the ziggers et al expectations post cold war you would think they won it honestly.

>denied in NATO
Not surprising. As a strictly logical decision I would also have advised against it. Consider these forces had just engaged in a generational propganda, economic, technological, espionage, and cultural warfare- complete with threats of nuclear annihilation and proxy warfare... does it seem reasonable to invite them into the fold the moment it ends lol? No way. That doesnt mean you ice them out. The correct sensible and rational posture would have been to open up relations- keep a firm but suspicious eye on them, and let the relationship build to a point where you can work together and trust each other. That's not to say NATO is blameless in how it was handled but there is little room to complain from the Russian perspective.

PPP is actually about adjusting income, which nicely translates into measuring what that adjusted income could buy, which led us to using it to apply domestic resource driven adjustment to GDP, since economy is a closed circuit to a large degree (with few exceptions, namely U.S. and EUZ) and exchange rates are actually a measurement of how you’re able to prove your currency worth on a currency market against other currencies

God, American logic is so stupid. If NATO accepted Russia into NATO, all conflict in the region would immediately end forever. It's not Russia waging proxy wars against US at its borders, its NATO constantly paying off terrorists and retards to attack Russia in order to keep up the pressure just short off all out war.

Obviously it could never be because NATO is a coalition for destruction of Russia, and fall of USSR was just a stepping stone to that goal.

That's why NATO has plenty of ex-soviet states without any worry of 'espionage' and 'propaganda'.

Still PPP is much lower than Western countries. The problem is, it doesn't go into depth about the social services in countries. For example, most young people in the US are dirt poor because the US has European tier taxes but there are no social safety nets, you need a car to get anywhere, and health insurance is $500/ month.
So although the US has le cheapest iPhones, most can't afford it or squander all of their necessary savings trying to afford one.

I really don't understand how someone could think that immediately after a generational cold war that defined a literal bipolar hegemony in thw world for decades, that one side would collapse and just bring the other in as a junior partner like it never happened. Kek it's so delusional. Almost literally insane.

These two forces basically had competing government views, world views, economic warfare, psychological warfare, cultural warfare, espionage warfare, legitimate threats of nuclear annihilation etc etc. for whole generations and you honestly dont expect the winning side to "take it slow" or be cautious with them afterwards? Are you actually insane? You're like a woman who just trashes the house and has a big fight and then you make up and they wake up the next day and pretend it never happened.

Again I am not suggesting that Russia should not have been worked with. But after all that had happened it would have ligicaly been a steady and slow process of building trust and improving relations until one day perhaps they could be allies. NATO may have some fault for not seeing that through correctly- but Russia would be high on crack to think they would almost immediately be brought into NATO after the Cold War.

From what I can tell the US not only produces more grains but exports more grains. Although russia does seem to export a larger %.

Although I dont implicitly assume that is as big of a deal as you think. Especially considering that the US has a far more varied ag commodity sector that legitimately more or less supply itself.

I'd say the only area that russia has a legitimate central role in the ag sector from the US's perspective is in fertilizer inputs. That would be the more legitimate argument from the Russian perspective.

Because a coalition of various western nations has waged a war against Russia by its borders from the start of 20th century, using not only conventional warfare, but also economical warfare and proxy wars.

Despite consistent attempts by Russia to negotiate an end to the war, all of the treaties, agreements and memorandums are consistently ignored by Russia's enemy.

No it's entirely in line with sanity.

After World War 2, when NATO was formed, USSR immediately applied to join NATO, because it's entirely sensible that members of UN Security Council would be in a military alliance.

They were promptly denied because having USSR in anti-USSR alliance is against the point of NATO.

And in that regard I think NATO may bear some blame but I think Russia did also with theor expectations. Why are you such a faggot? Idk the politics of what surrounding Russia's interest in NATO but it wasn't a serious bid to join. There was never even a formal application. You think realistically Putin would have wanted to make all of the concessions that would have entailed? Concessions that would have directly reduced his own domestics control and power? Looking at it beyond the surface level could explain why Putin would have wanted to pretend to be interested in joining NATO, without actually intending to. So that later when he starts invading other countries he could say "but look what you did, we wanted to be friends but you rejected us!"
>>
>>516985451
The germans literally got conquered, carved up and vassalized. Is this the fate you would have preferred for Russia?

I'm not fan of NATO but I really don't find it that odd that they pressed their influence in the ex soviet vassals after the Soviet Empire collapsed. Pretty standard behavior from the victors in a war. In prior times they would have literally just confiscated the holdings. Just like if the US collapsed after the cold war I wouldnt have found it suprising if Russia pressed their I fluence further in Mexico etc. in the aftermath. No it really is just a military alliance. NATO can demand members to fit these criterias, but NATO cannot force members that do not fit this criteria to change their domestic policy. NATO can't enact laws or orders to alter domestic policy of a member state.

NATO can deny entry into countries that don't fit these criteria, NATO can't force countries to change to fit this criteria.

Alcoholism and mismanagement. Ever since Alcohol Distillation became common the rulers of Russia have monopolized Vodka, using it both as a means of making money and controlling the population. Drunkards are terrible organizers so any rebellion was doomed to fail unless the government was INCREDIBLY incompetent. This, combined with the Russian Winter creating the perfect defense, meant that Russian Leaders NEVER had to think and could get more and more incompetent.

Then Nick II took the throne. Truly, a portrait of failure.

The Communist Government wasn't much better. Yes, incompetence could get you killed but the lack of free speech meant you could arrest anybody pointing out your incompetence. Thus, mismanagement continued. Additionally, while Lenin advocated for Temperance and a blanket ban on Vodka, Stalin was an Avid drinker and used Vodka just like the Czars of Old. Even with the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russians have such a deep seated culture of drinking and nihilism that they can't be assed to do anything to change their country.

Which caliphate, my niggermutt?
Please, tell me more...

>Demanding to be IN NATO fresh off the heels of the cold war
Poland, member of USSR and participant in Cold War, was accepted earlier than Russia made its bid.

Look retard you literally deny portugal was once part of the caliphate historically you have no authority to give any opinion on these topics when you have displayed open and unabashed denial like this.
>>
>>516987377
What denial?
Why do you refuse to tell me which Caliphate was Portugal in?
Lol

Mutts gonna mutt...

Boohoo nigga, that's geopolitics. Acting like a fucking child. I don't blame Putin for being mad about NATO, but it's not some great betrayal. Russia in the same position would have took advantage of the geopolitical climate of the time.

Mostly Umayyad

and you think the IMF is retarded enough to not account for that? Even if that was the case, then why the bigmac index doesn't contradict?

russian gdp should be lifted x3 according to BMI, if we do this in OPs table , it would mean #3 behind USA and China, probably #4 if we do same with india. PPP suggests #4. Why we get a similar result?

So... at best that Caliphate lasted 100 years.
And most of its hold on the Peninsula was very... shaky.
Not even through the resistence of the Christians but because their own mostly North African troops rebelled all the time.

In less than one hundred years most of Portugal was under Christian rule.
Half of it would never be conquered by moors again (North of Duro river + Galiza).

Poland was a vassal of the USSR. Why does this distinction elude you?
>>
>>516988254
What about the Emirate of Cordoba?
>>
>>516988333
Because Russia was a vassal of the USSR since for most of USSR's existence it wasnt majority Russian or ruled by Russians. Why do you refuse to accept that?
>>
>>516965702
>Why?
Because Russia has weak genetics. The average Russian is lazy and uninitiated; he can't do a shit if he is not threatened with violence.

All our past accomplishments were thanks to brutal foreign-blood tsars and dictators who fucked Russians hard.

Thus, Russia needs a new brutal master to accomplish something, because the current neo-tsar Putin is too meek for Russians.
