Everyone says read the gospel, and that’s not a bad place to start. The catechism of the Catholic Church might be a better place because it sort of explains the why about faith in God. Like you might be thinking why should I do this? Why become Christian? The catechism will help with that answer. The Old Testament is basically a Jew history book. Read genesis and skip the rest. Psalms are ok but it’s not a great read as it’s mostly songs and poems and shit. The gospels at least tell a story.
