There is a reason when someone tells you they work in tech no one will shake their hands witht them and they get the cold shoulder at parties. Sicko fucks. I blame jewish pornography. We used to beat up nerds in school so this sick shit would not happen, It was a wisdom thing not some IQ shit. it knocked the social creepiness right out of them and they all turned out fine until the schools did the no bullying gayness and everyone got a trophy and and A+ every time they farted. Yes, but we can fix that.

There are 730,000 foreign H1b workers in the US and they are NOT just tech jobs.

NEW /jjg/ thread here:

>Indians are running scams to steal jobs from Americans. This is a campaign to expel them from US jobs. Even if you don't need a job, you can help and you may get a cash payout.

Tech was a fake bubble artificially manufactured to have somewhere for QE money printed fake fiat during the 2010's to be stashed and parked at. Now that inflation from money printing has tapped out and exhausted the entire market, an inflation-fueled melt up is occurring in the dollar and will take the entire fake tech industry bubble with it.

The lack of tech jobs is doing more damage to gen Z than anything in recent history. The remote six figure tech job is the holy grail, the carrot on a stick, the ONE thing young men are possibly willing to slave away decades for. Killing off the comfy coding career is like cornering a starving animal and poking it with a stick.
>>
>>517612810
It's even worse. STEM-OPT, brainchild of the bloody benchod bastard Dubya Bush gives employers a discount for hiring foreign grads to usually entry level positions over American citizens with the same degree.

Then again, America hates science, hates scientists, and wants them making dogshit wages as research coolies.

same stands with other private-public partnership entities

even the most retarded of them all - worked in service/finance industry and has taken one semester course in "i.t." = qualified

if you are interested in 'digital apps' field with a goal to work for someone that might pay you money you dream of then pursue 'digital apps' field as a hobby and self-improvement exercise

Tech degrees mean almost nothing, people who learn what they need when they need it succeed better. If you really want to do a real computer science degree, do computer engineering instead or electrical engineering. Mechatronics or automation is good if you can grt it cheap, but a lot of the older guys won't hire based on the name alone.

This. When I hire in the tech industry, I want a self directed learner with an intense curiosity. I don't give a shit about a degree. I want someone with knowledge in their head, but I don't care how they got it there. Especially with jeet fake degrees and US DEI degree mills.

All big tech companies have dropped the degree requirement.

I have a sneaky suspicion that what's happening is that all these companies are wasting a lot of money on the AI FOMO
they have less money to hire new people
they dump the extra workload on their seniors
they force those seniors to use AI and explain how well they are integrating AI
productivity in software development has always been hard to measure. now you have people, delusional or not, pressed into justifying their existence to a company threatening to fire them. they obviously make up whatever bullshit makes them and their stupid bosses look good. AI is such a productivity boost!
that feeds the AI FOMO
on and on and on

It's not even hard to solve. Kill OPT, or force employers to pay the same payroll taxes they'd have to pay for an American. Reduce H1B slots, make a bidding system instead of a lottery.

I think STEM-OPT and its distortion of the entry level market for science, engineering, and tech jobs is particularly pernicious. It would be one thing if H-1B was used to "we have a mid-career overseas guy we like and want to bring over", but STEM-OPT fundamentally screws American kids out of that all-important first job.

yep, specialized cybersecurity/data SWE graduates is doing and will always do just fine. general CS grads are the ones eating shit. which is very much deserved, because if you graduate with a regular CS degree it shows that you're a normalfag who was just there to jump on the COVID techboom hypetrain.

right now the new normie hypetrain is AI. it will crash soon, AI is nowhere near as profitable as the amount of investment money it has attracted over the years.

if you're a HS senior reading this, and you're interested in a stable big tech job: go for EE. you will NEVER go wrong with EE. there's so many eternally valuable industries you can specialize into with EE: semicon, infocomm, drone/robotics, datagrids etc. hell even general powergrids is good enough.

i'm not talking about degrees lol. due to education creep from fake college mills and DEI admissions, degrees are basically a musthave no matter what in today's world, since they have become so easy to get. i'm talking about the TYPE of degree. and CS has always just been a shit degree in general.

it's just that 2010's big tech boom, compounded with 2020's COVID boom (because everyone was stuck online at home), GROSSLY overinflated CS degrees' value. now that the value of CS degrees are finally regressing back into its proper mean, the normalfags who jumped on the hypetrain are complaining.

if you have no degrees or can't get one, and you're still passionate about coding, your best bet is the indie gaming market at this point. make an indie game and pray to your God(s) that it can be the next Undertale or Stardew Valley or Hollow Knight. the indie vidya scene is thriving right now so good luck.

I promise you, even at a top-end instution that more than half of the CS undergrads were absolutely, completely, fucking useless and relied utterly on others to assist them with their problem sets. These are people you would NEVER want to work with you and this is supposed to be the cream of the crop.

Now think, you have 30 years of people pushing CS down the throat of multiple generations to the point that its reached get-rich-quick scheme levels of delusion... do you REALLY think that they all should get jobs? Honestly, not even half of them should have jobs.

So yes, an entire generation is fucked, as they should be. Even further, we should have been fucked WAY sooner. This gravy train has been sailing for far too fucking long.

And he did close his eyes. He closed his eyes and he turned his head and he raised one hand to fend away what could not be fended away. Everything struck him all at once and it entered his skill more reliably than any though. Everything that the zoomer had ever known or thought or loved drained slowly down the wall behind him. His mother's face, his first day at school, the girls he had known and failed to win. The faces of the men who laid claim before he arrived and decided long before his arrival that he would die. His own body briefly like a flash, a child dead in a roadside ravine in a country he did not recognize. He lay half headless on the road with his arms outflung like a woman raped with most of his right hand missing as well as his skull. Have you ever been in a street fight in real life, and if so how did it go? Did you win or was it a “pocket full of spaghetti” sperg moment? I question people who started fighting later in life’s adrenaline control. This may be something that’s easier to learn as a young child, such as a second language. A normal kid who went to a somewhat tough school will spent countless hours play fighting and sparring with his friends in addition to more serious fights with his enemies. Recess, evenings, weekends. It becomes ingrained and instinctual. While you were playing video games and magic the gathering Pokémon cards. Can you really make up for this as an adult working a couple hours at the gym a week after working 50 hours writing code, amongst all the responsibilities and things you have going on as an adult? To me MMA nerds like this just seem to be using it as cope for the fact that they feel scared to walk around by themself at night in the city.

Programming is easy as fucking balls when you start to learn about it.

The strength and the majority of the job these faggots do or were hired and paid huge portions of money was to merely debug HUGE swathes of lines that could take hours of the day to go through when you are running a massive company. But why do you need these retards anymore when AI can both code and immediately detect errors in mere seconds?

kike jews, curryniggers, and cunt fagtifa HR bitches really fucked American tech industry. The worst is jeetniggers who dumbed down the entire industry. In the 90s they were studying Excel macros and memorizing idiomatic english phrases like "how's hanging my dude?" At some point these niggers figured out how to take over US companies. If they could take over HR and management, they could take over the entire industry. Because in the HR, job title and authority is based on number of reports not skill or anything else. Therefore, because jeets are like cockroaches, all they had to do was get the majority of the seats at a company. Then when they have a management job, fire everyone else and hire more cockroaches. Finally, now they have replaced HR cunts and recruiters with shit smelling jeet bitches and during covid they all started working from the shithole India they came from, which is why when the $100k fee came out there were hundreds of thousands of them trying to get back to the United States. Only the jew could screw America this bad that it is embarrassed by these third world slumdog nigger shitlords who should never have been allowed to set foot in the western world.

Employed ce (computer engineering) chad who hires people, here is my wisdom

1.) CS is a meme degree always has been. You need a hardware component in there somewhere because you know, actual products are made from hardware. Most CS grads dont even take basic electrical theory so unless you are making an app or some service to process who amounts of data you were always fucked. You dont need college to learn cosr you need it to learn the relationship between code, hardware, and electrical systems

2.) Cs was oversaturated even a decade ago. My graduating class of CE was 8 dudes including myself while there were like over 200 cs grads. I knew from the get go they were gonna have a hard time

3.) The new crop of cs nerds suck and are poisoned by unrealistic expectations. No im not going to hire you for 100k plus if you have literally 0 work experience, we need guys that know how to design a product from scratch and get it to market. Fucking around with the latest python extension doesn't help

4.) Cs is really just a shit degree path you learn so much asinine theory that hasn't been relevant in the field for decades. Professors are mostly to blame for this because they also didnt work in industry

If you want to make money in tech do computer engineering and learn how to program processors and micro controllers. You can learn it on your own and get a degree to learn the more complex aspects of systems/hardware engineering. For every 100 cs applicants i get i get maybe 2 viable computer engineers
>>
>>517611279
Yep, all because greedy tech companies want to hire jeets instead of investing in the future of American youth. Thank God I’ve got my comfy tech job now. Good luck zoomers!
>>
>>517625752
Also forgot to mention that most cs grads are sweaty nerds who won't work with their hands. GROSS. Learn some fucking social skills and how to solder maybe before you beg for a job. They also tend to have really terrible problem solving skills cause "there is a module for that" while computer engineers have to make everything from scratch all the time. Writing firmware means setting up your hardware environment, IDE, and your own testing tools. Want to export a file from a processor? Better make a tool for that. CS grads really lack this skill and mostly skate by college cause they are techy but no one and I mean NO ONE cares that you can write a binary tree search algorithm it's just not relevant
>>
>>517623617
This is also a huge problem

Going to school to learn coding is one of the dumbest things you can do because it's free to learn and you can set up all your python environments easily on a computer from 2014.

You go to college to learn how to integrate code with real hardware systems (programming) because they are much harder to set up and usually require specialized equipment and expertise that isn't as commonly available

CE >>>>>>>> CS

Agree that many CS degrees are memes today but Computer Science strictly speaking is not a meme. Computer Science != web shit. Granted that's what many of these programs have devolved into so understandably many people conflate the two.

Computer science strictly speaking includes computer architecture and hardware. Not at the level of a CE/EE, but more than enough to work in systems, firmware/embedded, program microcontrollers, performance optimization, etc. These types of software engineers tend to be the best because they can bridge the hardware-software gap while also having the higher-level theory and software engineering knowledge required to actually build and deliver secure and maintainable software. CEs/EEs who learned how to program tend to not be very good at the software engineering part of software.

A CS degree from a highly ranked school is still a good choice. Agree that more bias towards hardware is beneficial (e.g. taking more systems and embedded electives) and staying away from any webshit.
