This post is a cautionary example and an effort to exorcise this pathetic observation from my mind.I was at a punk bar a couple of weeks ago and noticed a strikingly ugly, shabby little man who was evidently known and tolerated by the staff and regulars. Probably in his late 50s but likely prematurely aged by habit and circumstance. I looked up the bar facebook page later to see if I could find out about him and saw that he had been tagged in the bar’s Facebook photos, going back over a decade.This guy still overshared everything like it was 2009. It turned out that his parents had recently died and the family home, where he still lived, was being sold, and he was complaining about having to be out.I looked up the listing and noticed that amongst the photos of empty rooms with 1970s decor and furniture shadows, the photos didn’t include one of the rooms which was visible from the street (albeit with the curtains closed). The 3D rendering of the house showed why.Even after the rest of the house had been cleared a few months ago, he had stayed there with all of his crap. The guy had been in a state of arrested development for at least 40 years up until then. Living at home and having no job must have been so sweet at 17, when he had all the time in the world to buy / spin records, paint little planes and warhammer guys, binge-drink, and masturbate, that he just stayed doing the same things for decades until the realtors came after many years and had to work around his dusty piles of crap.This is a warning to anyone who is embracing the NEET lifestyle. Having time for hobbies and passions in life is essential. But you can’t hike the Alps, build a relationship with a woman, or restore an old motorcycle if you don’t have a fucking job. There’s so much more out there than the life you got used to in your teens.

The NEETs under 25 will mock you and disagree but i know you speak the truth. I'm almost 30 and been a NEET all my life and now i cannot work due to health issues and have no life whatsoever. I resent her so much and ofcourse my deadbeat father who was never around.
