I know everyone here is very busy debating bots in slide threads, but this is actually a serious political topic.

>Shutdown all but guaranteed after parties fail to cut a deal (85% chance on polymarket)
>100,000 federal workers planning to resign
>Administration threatening mass firings of other government workers
>Previous shutdown was in 2018-2019
>Lasted for 35 days
>Analysts are predicting this one will last even longer

Major sticking points:
>Republicans won't extend Obamacare funding
>Democrats won't sign a bill that doesn't include it

Possible consequences:
>Essential government (e.g. air traffic controllers) workers have to keep working without pay
>YES that includes ICE agents
>Non-essential workers will be furloughed
>???
>Mass chimpouts?
>>
they shutdown every year and then they decide to kick the can down the road after a bunch of useless bickering

>>517638555

but this has happened a million times now and it's meaningless
like the other anon said, they just kick the can down the road
it's practically political theater at this point

100k workers are planning to ragequit, and Trump is planning to fire 100s of thousands more.
It's also expected to last longer than last time.

If it goes on long enough, food stamps and other programs will stop.

I hope it happens. I work for a contractor that does NOTHING without government input. Shutdowns are peak comfy.

Yeah, this makes people so happy to come to work and perform their jobs to the best of their abilities.

Remember when the last government shutdown happened, there were no chemtrails in the sky and the day the the government went back up the sky was blanketed in crisscross patterns of chemtrails?

Republicans put up a clean resolution to keep the government funded until november. It's clearly the dems that want to push it because it's the only leverage they have.

>Other possible consequences
FROM INSIDE DC

If Senator Schumer goes forward with this shut down, OMB Director Russ Vought gets unleashed.

Apparently his staff worked through the weekend identifying who/where cuts would happen first. The President's men are going to take full advantage of the opportunity to save the American people massive amounts of money by terminating otherwise untouchable bureaucrats from the government.

Furthermore, there are many programs that will be put on hold during the shutdown that the administration currently doesn't have the ability to make changes to. However, if a shutdown occurs, once the shutdown ends, the President's staff has full decision making over staffing of essential employees for those programs once business resumes.
>>
>>517638555
>Analysts are predicting this one will last even longer
why?
and polymarket isnt a source
>>
>>517638697
It doesn't matter. Essential government workers keep working and everyone else gets a free vacation + backpay.

WTF? I could swear we had one every year during Biden, one every year during Trump and even a couple during the last Obama years.
Shutting down the goverment is basically an american tradition by now.

>>517638792
Indiviudally it's nothing, but this crap builds up. The goverment barelly keeps up with day to day operations. Shutdowns add more work debt.
>>
>>517638555
If I'm not an israeli, why would I care about a shutdown? Every single second the government is not shutdown they seem to be digging us further into debt while actively trying to genocide my race and replace citizens with foreigners, all while running clandestine operations that entrap and/or kill us with the goal of taking all of our rights away. There isnt a single redeeming thing the governmet does for us. Not one.

Moot point. Everything's about to change on this planet. The October 2nd event is just two days away. But bear in mind, October 1 may even be in play now.

Technically correct. But this would fuck the country if done this way because then the democrats would do this for anything they wanted. This is mutual destruction. The senate already fucked president by making nominees bundled together, so rest assured it will happen when democrats have power.

So we hired a bunch of federal law enforcement officers, gave them milsurp, gave them an ideology, and then took their money away? But also bailed out Argentina who undercut our farmers and then bailed out our farmers who can't produce food? Then we hit a debt ceiling.

Does this orange realize he is about to be pealed alive by his own feds?

The government has "shut down" like five times in as many years. Everytime, it's some big deal but for the average citizen it affects fucking nothing. They just push through whatever vote stalled or whatever gay shit holds them up.

If the government actually "shut down", we would be in ANARCHY.

SCOTUS is going to be ruling on Trump's illegal taxes, AKA tariffs, in early to mid November.
They will find them unconstitutional.
Trump has already framed this as a black swan that will be blamed on "Radical Leftist Lunatics".
The shutdown will last up to that point.
This will cause the first part of the crash.
Then the Genius Act will kick in, and Tether will fail.
This will cause the second part of the crash.
It's going to be the next Great Depression, according to Trump.
The camps are built.
The military is deploying to the cities.
It's all pretty obvious.
