Conventional eggs are about $0.25 each here. Adjusting for inflation, that's near recent norms. If you want organic, find a small farm to buy from directly. Stores know that people who buy organic are less price sensitive so when wholesale prices go down, retail prices go down slower for items purchased by price insensitive customers.

We have 3 chickens and more eggs than you can even eat for basically free. Plus they eat the nasty infestation bugs like palmetto bugs and roaches that even attempt to get close to the house. Had a rooster a while back too but waking up at 3 am every morning to that faggot screeching gets old.
