If you look at old historical references from just after the numbers were much smaller as the years go on they jack up the figures more and more just look at how they reacted to 10/7 with all the wild claims and extrapolate that behavior to ww2 and you’ll quickly realize they have to be exaggerating

The original discrepancies in the death counts were a result of Soviet propaganda in where they had to inflate the numbers to make it seem like slavs died in bigger proportions than jews, which required to inflate the overall deaths and thus also the jewish casualties.
