I’ve noticed a general downtrend in performance and quality in Windows, Google, social networks, video games, etc.

AI
The overheads of it negatively impact the systems its used on, mainly because it shouldn't be used in the way it is
very few people understand how to implement it properly

Jeets, niggers, DEi in tech, people in it for the money instead of love. You no longer need (at least the tech industry thinks) a super strong background in mathematics... basically they've allowed dumb niggers and women in the field about 15 years ago and the effects are starting to hit.
>>
None of the slop you listed is "tech", contrary to what /g/ code monkey manchildren Indians-in-denial believe. All of the people screeching "pajeet" are projecting their own worthlessness; there are no pajeets where I work.

>technology
>noun
>the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.
>machinery and equipment developed from the application of scientific knowledge.
>the branch of knowledge dealing with engineering or applied sciences.

Kindly understand that this perceived decline is merely a product of your parochial Western perspective.

Yes. Blame the profit motive. The goal of capitalism is to get the most out while putting the least in.

In a given industry, familiarity with the technology improves, as well as the understanding of consumer expectations. This is leveraged to produce something as cheaply as possible that still meets minimum expectations. Eventually the high skill people who want to make an exceptional product leave or otherwise get burnt out from the pressures from above, and the industry is turned in to a machine that generated barely passable products with the best margins the capitalist can squeeze out of it.

In games, UE5 was released and promised to take away the need to optimize. Studios adopted it, got rid of their optimization workflows, laid off or fired associated staff, and focus on producing generic garbage. Back in the day, every good game had a significantly modified engine, and much more time was spent optimizing assets and making unique engine features.

On Google, originally the goal was to provide a really good search algorithm that maximized usefulness, so that people would use it more. Now Google has no incentive to provide you the best first result. Instead they try to keep you on their platform and pages that serve Google ads for as long as possible. Search accuracy be damned.

On Facebook, knowing what your friends are doing turned out to be a bad business model, because after you check in, you check out. Now there's an algorithm to keep you engaged with people who do not care about you and you will never meet, so that you can coomsoom more ads and products. Same for YouTube and other services.

Hand tools used to be insanely overbuilt and excellent, and now they're designed such that they save every penny and cut every corner possible.

Enshittification is not a new phenomenon. Glad you're noticing though.

Google is getting worse to try and control your sources.

Video games are getting worse because they punish innovation and good programers

AI is getting better. Look at deepseek look at predictive analytics. Its getting bonkers
>>
>>517661235
I cant answer about the programming side because I'm not a computer science major. But I can tell since 2006 when normies got cell phones, they started trying to make all games and websites dumbed down for these morons to understand it. everything has to be as simple as possible for browns and women

whenever a product peaks but shareholders demand infinite growth the product must be produced cheaper with a) lower quality materials
b) less and cheaper labor
c) and be sold in smaller chunks for the same price
this is called enshittification and is the proud labor of CEO. thank a CEO today for without CEOs the line would not go up (for shareholders).

I left out what I thought has been good or getting better but yes AI has. I’d also say Apple has maintained quality but has failed to innovate.

Windows has been the biggest decline by far. Google search is easy to replace but so much software relies on windows so to have it constantly pushing out bloated updates that hurt performance is just bad.

Too much bloat, which is why you should switch to Linux.

Microsoft doesn't have an incentive to write optimal code. They just need it to be good enough that they can get a bunch of telemetry data off you. But if you're using Windows in 2k25 you're probably a cuck anyway

DEI hires destroying all of IT.

You see it the most clearly with the dumpster fire that is Windows 11.

I use Ubuntu so idk. It's more Windows GUI friendly but you might as well use Mint if that's what you're after

thats why i still use Win7 with tron. I bought a Win11 laptop sometime ago and the thing is a piece of fucking shit

Window is trash period
>>
>>517661235
Yeah. It's all run by marketing department now.

Marketing department doesn't need to be good at tech.

Getting rid of production positions to get more marketers - is very profitable.

Doesn't matter what hot garbage leftover manpower makes, as long it uses an established title, shows up in top search result articles, appears on reddit, reviewed in youtube ads/videos and every streamer plays/uses it - it will turn profit.

Won't it at some point crumble under it's own weight? You can milk the short-term gains only for so long.

>a general downtrend in performance
some of it is deliberate
YT is launching DoS attacks when it detects a browser blocking elements
if I open a YT page, no other device in my home can receive packets for roughly 20 seconds while it sits there stalled on a blank screen

can you expand on this a bit more?

Pajeets are runing tech companies and they are accelerating the enshittification
>>

>Is tech getting worse?
No, it's getting better and less efficient to compensate so you will continue to buy. Just install linux.

Apple absolutely scored with their M chips which are great and even the whole migration was smoother than expected, simply going with ARM was a bold move and it was one of the best innovations we have seen in the industry for past years
