I use to think autism was from only older women having kids, and while I still think that plays a large part of it, I've now decided that a large part of it comes from the inability to absorb folic acid in the diet. Someone recently posted about taking a folinic acid supplement, as that is more easily absorbed for people that have antibodies against the receptors for folate. I decided to buy some, and indeed it has a nice calming effect. My mother never took Tylenol when she was pregnant with me but she did take prenatal vitamins. It's my opinion that babies are getting too much folate in the womb, and their bodies are creating antibodies to it, and once born, they can't absorb the proper amounts of folate.
