Riga is pretty cool, but its practically a Russian city, so has little to do with Latvians
>>517685453I let a Latvian girl in college who played volleyball. She was tall as fuckI sat next to her in a freshman class and everytime we talked I would ask her about Latvia and she’d just be like “it’s kinda boring. Nothing goes on there”
>>517685453I hope there will not happen there.
>>517685453jeets of eastern mongoasiatic europe
>>517685547This is basically true sadly. Riga is a shithole.Anyway, what happens here? Nothing much really. Except when it does.
i know that girl. she goes to my school

>>517685453Three Latvian are brag about sons. “My son is soldier. He have rape as many women as want,” say first Latvian. “Zo?” second say, “My son is farmer. He have all potato he want!” Third Latvian wait long time, then say, “My son is die at birth. For him, struggle is over.” “Wow! You are win us,” say others. But all are feel sad.
>>517685743Riga isn't a shithole, its pretty comfy. Loved visiting it. People were nice to me too unlike Poland.
>>517685453east baltids, subhumans
>>517685985Yes it sucks here. Stay away.
>>517685453
>>517685906Why is basketball so popular in the belt? I know Balkanoids love it too. Negro spirit?
>>517686010Well Poland is full of Poles. 35% of people here speak Russian primarily and in Riga it is like 50%.
>>517685972Mostly just seething about how they're somehow different than Germans
>>517686129Tallest people on Earth. Fit athletic tall Uber Aryans. Also a white American man invented basketball as a young man's game, teenagers.
>>517686150Warsaw was fine, but in Krakow people were mean to me. And in Riga everyone was extremely friendly and the whole town was small and comfy. My family came to visit as well, so it was a great experience. I really love Riga and Latvia, you guys are great!
>>517685453Probably the shittiest, most passive-agressive baltic shithole. Catastrophic infrastructure and services. Weird locals. Stuck in the 20th century smaller towns.
>>517685547More Russians in the Baltics need to die of opioid overdoses and AIDS. Most of the opioid users in the Baltics are Russians, hopefully the opioid supply gets contaminated with really strong opioids like carfentanil so that more Russians die of overdoses. Russians are also most of the HIV infected in the Baltics, the Baltic governments should refuse Russians free HIV medication so that they die of AIDS.

>>517685547I have a joke for you.>Old Latvian was going down the street. Suddenly he saw some crowd, he came closer and asked what happened.>One dude replied>A brick fell from the roof and killed this young fellow.>Old Latvian started to cry:>"There is so few Latvians on this world and now one more died because of falling brick>Other guy from the crowd replied>I knew him, he wasn't Latvian, he was Russian.>Old Latvian suddenly calmed down and said with anger:>There are so many Russians in Latvia that even brick ccannot fall safely from the roof and kill anyone!
>>517686430>but in Krakow people were mean to meMost people there are Ukrainians
>>517686727I don't want to occupy Latvia. I think its great as it is. Riga feels like some small German town, but without all the multiculturalism. It was so nice there, one of my fav places to visit in Europe.
>>517686430Good, don't attack this country. I like it here and don't want to leave.
>>517687091Riga is a large city of like 800,000 people. I dunno why you act like it is Heidelberg or some shit. And like 90% of Riga is all fucked up.
>>517686129it was originally intended to be an American colony, both in the 1920s and 1990s but it went nowhere. fun fact: the strange maroon chestnut purple red colour used in Latvia's flag and national colours is a very specific one called 'Carmine red' that was invented by Crayola crayon company in the US. Meaning their flag can only be produced in America even though they say it represents the blood of freedom fighters. because it's a new synthetic colour the only other place it is used is for AS Roma soccer team who also adopted it in the 1920s around the same time Latvia was formed.
>>517689084the colour comes from this bug (Cochineal) which is native to Peru, not found in Latvia.
>>517685453almost every latvian that I saw working here was swarthy
>>517689365>A primarily sessile parasite native to tropical and subtropical South America through North America (Mexico and the Southwest United States)so the bug is native to USA too. if Latvia lost access to America like if Russia took over, they wouldn't be able to make their own flag accurately.>because it's a new synthetic colour the only other place it is used is for AS Roma soccer team who also adopted it in the 1920s around the same time Latvia was formed.both AS Roma and Latvian independence had ties to fascism in the 1920s, but that's ancient history. the common denominator in both is USA. no USA, no Latvia, so they play basketball.
>>517685453Lots of seething about russia and world's best canned sprats

>>517689689one of the first basketball teams in the world was in Latvia, founded in 1923. there was a big push by America to make basketball popular in Europe, but to this day the only place it has really held on is Latvia and Lithuania.

>>517685547It;s kind of shitty (but convinient) that I could get araund all 3 baltic capitals just by speaking Russian Granted I got called an Ukrainian one time in Vilnus. Maybe lot;s of immigrants.
>>517686683Who stormed Berlin? Was it the Americans? The English or the French? It was the Red Army! Have you forgotten? It is not hard to remember. It is an obvious fact. At Stalingrad alone, one million one hundred thousand people died. How many in Britain? Four hundred thousand? How many Americans? Less than half a million? Seventy-five or even 80 percent of the entire potential of the Wehrmacht was destroyed by the Red Army of the Soviet Union. Have you completely forgotten that, or what? No, they have not forgotten but are simply using these events of the past to solve today’s conjunctural domestic-political issues. This is bad because such a manipulation of history leads to nothing good. In any case, it doesn’t lead to the mutual understanding that we all need today
>>517692875>Granted I got called an Ukrainian one time in VilnusAccept my condolences
>>517686683in the Baltics and Latvia in particular, there is a dichotomy between the "wealthy Latvians" and "poor Russians". in reality Latvians aren't that much wealthier at all and they're still poor by Euro standards, but the Latvian national identity can be summed up as "I'm so sick of being fucking poor (like Russians)".

>>517693695>that sounds pretty Jewishthere used to be so many Jews in the Baltics that there is still a branch called Lithuanian Judaism. it will have rubbed off on them although today it's just projected as "American">why not just speak Polish/German/English? why the larp language and country?the country is on the Baltic, it's their coastline and that's where the language developed. why share it with anyone else? everyone else wants it precisely because it's valuable real estate.>would Latvians die for it?even if they didn't, someone else is going to die for it and fight over it. then they will become the new Latvians all over again.
>>517685547>practically a Russian citySounds like they need to be denazified so they can have a referendum
>>517685453They make some decent routers/switches
>>517695640that's one of their top exports. along with wood and booze.
>>517685453If you are thinking about moving here from Israel, because got annoyed about all that war happening nearby, few things to keep in mind.a) We have line 10 synagogues in a country. Like two of them are active, remaining mostly just as museums.b) No jews here wear kippah (or yarmulake). They are trying to blend in.c) circumcision is not paid by government. You will have to pay it from your own pocket (except if there is medical need). If remember correctly, procedure costs around 600 EUR.d) no mosques, which have been built as mosques yet. Just converted warehouses or smth. Muslims here are generally peaceful, and different flavors of them are going to same pseudo-mosques. Shia, sunni, etc.e) There is good chance that this area will become another warzone, but who knowsf) economy is stagnating, several foreign companies have withdrew from area. Only new foreign investments which come in, are related to military industry. Bullets, artillery shells, that sort of things.
>>517694998Look how proud daddy is to show off his little girl's chunky bits and kankles.
>>517695896why are your women so tall?
>>517696124Latvians have a lot of German admixture, there used to be a lot settled there called 'Baltic Germans' due to Prussia. with the modern diet they will grow tall, taller than the average Slav who aren't mixed with German.
>>517696124They are not very tall. Normal-ish. Dutch or masai woman would be taller. Ours are like 170cm on average.Probably data were skewed because of small data set. University chicks which participated in research were taller, and short ones did not bothered to go there. Dunno.
>>517696514You are known for playing basketball so that is probably part of it even if it isn't usually true.
Another things worth to know.Latvia have quite a lot of good quality drinking water. Best in Baltics. In Estonia in some places they have radioactive isotopes, while in Lithuania, there in some places are high fluoride levels. On that background, in Latvia it is best in Baltics.Even in Riga, municipality has invested in water treatment plants, and it gets treated with ozone, which reduces need of high level of clorine to be added.HOWEVER, with that cheap and good water comes... a lot of clouds and rain. In wintertime, there can be weeks when you do not see Sun, because of clouds and short daylight time (like 7 hours or so). When you go to a job, it is still dark, when returning from job, dark again.Great place if you like to swim in natural bodies of water. Those places we have all over the place. Thing is, that swimming season is like 3 months.
>>517697811I do not follow professional sport, know like 2 meme basketball players, and that's all.Historically we had decent sport infrastructure. Started in interwar period (between 1920 and 1940). Later in Soviet times, sportists from Baltics were way overrepresented. But it was largely because of difference in culture and traditions, as here was already established traditions to participate in competitions. While in Soviet Union, was more that those who stands out, they get shot or sent to Gulags. And that fucked up their sports infrastructure for decades to unfuck.
>>517698416you guys were here for the euro 2004
>>517698416I mean outside Latvia. when someone thinks of Latvia they think of basketball players, especially in the US due to all the Latvian NBA players. there isn't a lot to work with.
>>517696499Gotta keep the goy smells out
>>517698511I am not saying that ours were not. More that, as I am not following proffessional sport, that area is my "blind spot".Know guys who follow Formula 1 competitions, and they love to watch how car goes round, and round, and round. For me, sometimes watch some youtube "lets play" videos, of some videogame. In a sense, vaguely understand their attraction to that topic. Just, it is not for me, and have very, very limited knowledge about that field.Ice hockey also is a big thing here, but do not know much about it either.
>>517698560When I think of Latvia I think of a J1 visa chick who came to work at my mom's McDonalds in a ski town. I brought her up into the mountains on the ski hill road and made her follow me in the car as I skate boarded down the road. On the way up there she told me, "I am like Snow White but instead of a prince on a white horse, I want a prince with a white Mercedes."I told her, "you strike me as more of a Toyota Corolla girl."I had sex with her a few times but it was weird because it was always after her shift and she smelled like McDonalds, like beef and french fries, and that reminded me of my mom.
>>517698560That blonde chick, it is relatively widespread phenotype here. Comes from more northern part, Cēsis, Valmiera, Limbaži, Alūksne. From my mind, comes in mind 4 girls which know, which have similar characterictics.
>>517685453They are waiting for reunification with Mother Russia.
>>517698790true, Ice Hockey is also big in Latvia. strange how Russians never bring it up as some kind of rivalry because it's popular there too, they must see it as NHL and American, Russians enjoy it in Russia but Latvians can't. then they are traitors or something.
>>517699083I was going to mention that blonde chick looks exactly like that Latvian chick I fucked from my mom's McDonalds. I had to squint at that picture and reassure myself it wasn't her.
>>517699125Do not know about that rivalry thing. But some years ago, before Russia did special operation in Crimea in 2014, some of our Olympic hockey players played in russian hockey clubs. And there during one of plane crashes, entire team died, including several guys from here. May be happened in 2010 or smth.
>>517685453They were really mean to Jews in WW2 and gleefuly and zealously helped the Nazis with pogroms. Their history is honorable and illustrious.
