Do you guys have any news subscriptions? I'm tired of using my phone and 4chan/Twitter to get all my news, and thought about getting a newspaper subscription. Unfortunately things look pretty bleak, my metropolitan newspaper and many smaller city papers are owned by USA Today and I've read some bad things about how they do business. Fortunately my local town paper is awesome, it's one guy in his basement who releases a paper once a week about local events, seems like a cool guy. There's also NYT/WaPo as well if you guys have any opinions on them.

No. The last physical magazine i bought was in 2012, an economist. I was disgusted by the open marxism promoted and never touched boomer media again

I miss reading the newspaper during my lunch.

The Economist isn't bad. NYT is more unashamedly propagandistic and WaPo is just lib screeching

No, fuck journos. TJD. Thankfully newspapers are the fastest shrinking segment of media. Gannett is the parent company of USA Today and most big city newspapers full of shitlibs. These are the people who fill their editorial pages with bullshit and who universally refused to endorse Trump.

They've fired half their staff in the past few years. At last count they were down to 8,900 employees.

Newspapers could be a cool boomer/trad thing if they embraced right wingers. But they had to chase the dying MSNBC boomers into the grave.

>The Economist isn't bad

It used to be a decent, especially for an international point of view. But nowadays it's all handwringing about Trump and global warming.

How hard is it just to go back to reporting both sides of a story objectively? Like why can’t they see this advocacy yellow rag journalism has killed the business and the typical way of reporting would be a breath of fresh air that would probably sell better?

The entire zoomer generation hasn’t seen actual reporting that focuses on the reader arriving at the most informed opinion. That was expected for my generation
