The old ones are atrocious, I'd like to have one as a curiosity to poke around a corner with but not to actually drive anywhere.
The newest ones though, they seem to be quite different.
Not haute autocouture, and not even remotely anything a motoring enthusiast would own, but in a way of speaking the least Jewish car in the world.
No safety features except the seatbelt. No electronic interference, no stupid lane assist handcuffs, no totalitarian surveillance on your dashboard, and no infotainment system.
Makes the Dacia Sandero look luxurious. Those are Jewish too now.

For the sounds.

These are good beater cars because spare parts are cheap, maintenance is easy because everything has large tolerances, every tiny quirk and potential issue has been discovered and discussed in detail. It can be used as a toy to tinker with and pimped out with aftermarket parts or DIY stuff.

It will get you to places few cars can reach. But it's not a comfortable ride. Driving it every day, on a busy highway with flawless asphalt road must be miserable.

It's not the 1990s anymore, most of them drive Aurus, which is Russian, and is much more innovative than most foreign high-end cars these days.
I'd argue since 2022, our automotive industry is experiencing a huge growth, Moskvich has been resurrected and makes good cars now, most Ladas are good for their price, UAZ is planning to launch new models soon.

This one from the late 80s and early 90s is fiberglass over a tubular steel chassis and is still in great condition. It all depends on how exposed to the elements it was (leaving it under sunlight and rain for example). The material CAN brittle with age.

Isn't it harder and more expensive to get a motorcycle driving license than to get a car driving license?
Or can you get them at a younger age?

These things are quite popular among rich people here in Amsterdam because you can drive them from age 16 whereas you need to be 18 for a real car.

Honestly, I don't even know why Kremlin tries to sell these outside of Russia. They were made for a very specific environment (free spare parts, shitty road conditions, dedicated mechanic crews) - a Soviet economy, and they were made for a dedicated purpose in such economy. Outside of that environment they are just ridiculous - expensive, fuel consuming, unreliable, etc.

These are good cars for one thing and one thing only: you need to get somewhere unreachable and speed and fuel consumption are of no concern to you. And of course they're not cars for city driving, they're too slow even for that.

I've driven one of those for a week on mountain roads in Ecuador. It was perfect for the task. I've driven a $200k Freightliner with an interior that could easily be ripped apart by hand.
In fact, the knobs for climate control broke like a toy and so did the replacements.
Panels are packaging-material thin and brittle.
Every new vehicle is overpriced Fisher Price quality.

Sure you can.
Wouldn't be worth it unless it was a corporate psyop level of fuckery though.
I can personally vouch for the cheapness of the new heavy truck that was falling apart at the slightest stress.

Retards here fought over Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge for years and it basically boiled down to "you get what you pay for" but getting an inferior product for a premium price is the new way of western markets.
>>
>>518131715
Is that true of post-2015 F-150s though?
Owned 2 F-150s that were great trucks, then I hop in a new one and it looks and feels cheap and gimmicky.
Hopefully, they didn't cut costs on the drive trains too much.
>>
>>518117687
These things cost about 5 grand new and are surprisingly good off road and on snow and ice.

USSR never produced good internal goods, ask anyone who is old enough to have lived through late USSR or at least the 90s.
Effectively you were separated into tiers of a product, there was an everyman's product, there was a slightly improved version of the base, then there was the manager/scientist/director version of a product, and finally you had the government tier. Everything below manager tier was shit and required a lot of maintenance but it has a benefit that they were also easy to maintain and fiddle with.
That being said that is not all of the tiers that actually existed, you had three more secret tiers. Yugoslavia/Poland tier which was often better than local stuff while still being affordable, then you had the GDR/East Germany tier product which was usually seen as the dream gold standard of socialist consumer goods, and then as the final mythical pull you had western goods and items which were treasured like an artefact.
I'm not exaggerating, if you had a TV or a radio from USA somehow, it was a big enough event for your neighbors to regularly gather at your house to gawk at it.

Can confirm.. you have to add nothing was available and everything was expensive as shit. I am from Czech republic - we had it not "so bad" like in SSSR but still.. We had other tier - the export goods, also unobtainable for locals - all the Skodas all England us making fun even after fifty years were super luxurious nobody could buy.

The situation was like this - If you wanted to buy a automatic washing machine which costed something like six month of salary, you had to wait for two years. Then you get one, but the model had something like 70% of warranty claims - I kid you not, so fucked up it was.. So you could wait another two years for a part which came fucked up again, or deal with it - if you were lucky, it was something "minor" (door could not be unlocked, water was leaking etc.) or repairable..
I can't imagine how was it in SSSR if we had more advanced consumer goods..
