They have much much further to fall given they've enjoyed a broadly asymmetric advantage. And fewer countries that might want to help foot the bill (at least in favorable terms to Russia). Russia obviously also has a harder time defending against small drone waves. Ukraine mostly has their attacks coming from 1-2 directions. Meanwhile one of the last attacks on Russia seems to have been launched from Kazakhstan (and I doubt officially approved by kazakh authorities). That's expensive to defend from in the sense that those units and equipment will be getting very little use when they're needed elsewhere.
