Why do some countries struggle with the English language? I see a lot of English content.More English content = more academic success.

>>518373319in some country english is the thrid language you learn because you first learn another native language in your country. some language are closer to english and therefore more simple to learn. if the grammar is completely different it takes more time, that's why we have more trouble learning mandarin for example. some countries are just lazy to speak english. french does not like it, most french i know they speak pretty okay as long they learn it in school but as soon they are out and don't train it that much, it gets worse ... i had french in school, i still can read queit a bit but listening/talk is impossible

Portugal used to have subbed movies in cinemas I don't know if they even watched subbed tv shows. Spain was 100% dub country. Don't know if this trend prevails as I am not a normalnigger but it explains the contrast well.
>>518374307Yes, all movies and tv series are still subbed. The other reason for our english proficiency is also phonetics. The Portuguese language has very complex and extensive phonetics, so, we can make different sounds more easily. Its also the reaso why people say it sounds like Russian (it does)
