ukrainians have been stationed in kursk for 6 months. if we assume that russia has diverted massive resources to the kursk direction (let’s say 1/3) it means russia suffered 600 dead troops daily there, resulting in total 108k dead russians. how did 10k norks stop the force that crushed almost 110k russians to death?

Gents, great news from Serbia. This morning, the USA have imposed sanctions on our only oil company that all our oil comes through, 51% of which is owned by Russian Federation. This means that as soon as our oil reserves are depleted, Serbia will be completely without fuel. This, in turn, means no cars, no trucks, therefore less and less goods in our supermarkets. Many domestic franchises will go bankrupt, dozens of thousands will lose jobs in the coming months.

Now, what's the good news here? We have footage of the offer our government made to Russians to buy off their controlling share at a good price, 25% of which would then be sold for the same price to the USA, and 25% to China, since Russians can no longer profit off it, since we're landlocked and under sanctions. Russians said no.

This opens up an opportunity. When people are desperate, we will circulate that information and turn them against RF. The goal is to get our government to join the sanctions against Russia and confiscate all its property in our country, including the oil industry. All the private assets we confiscate from their politicians will be given to Ukrainian Army in an effort to support their struggle.

I want all of you who have any socials to spread this idea so the more people lose their minds, the deeper it gets ingrained into their subconscious, so when it finally happens, they will think it's their idea, no one else's.

3:4 killed+missing:wounded ratio. Quite incredible really. 110k killed/missing in just eight months. Projected 165k by the end of the year. 220k wounded by the end of the year.
Medvedev bragged earlier this year that 95%+ of the wounded return to fight.

Let's say Russia has 600k men in Ukraine. They're going to be down 165k, so 435k left. 220k of those are wounded. So 215k able-bodied soldiers remain, of a starting 600k after a year of fighting. They would need at minimum 165k fresh faces to sign up just to keep their starting number assuming the wounded are only lightly wounded.

I wonder if there's any intel on what %age of 2025's projected recruit numbers are kontractniki forced and coerced to resign their contracts after their time is up.

If there isn't a steady inflow of fresh able-bodied recruits then the ground invasion force will be attrited rather quickly. We already see reports of specialist troops, not kontractniks, removed from their roles as drone operators or artillery engineers and put into stormtrooper units because those units need rebuilding so rapidly week by week.

It makes me think that a general mobilisation is coming soon if Russia is willing to keep fighting.

Please do. I thought Sberbank was doing quite nicely thank you very much. At least compared to other banking majors. Their profits are up YoY, maybe not keeping with inflation but still +ve, and they had no trouble paying dividends (50% of profits, crazy!) either and are reassuring shareholders that they will pay them next year too.

My guess is that the project to generate an "economically sovereign" ERP SAP equivalent has failed in Russia and so IT is getting binned. Is that correct? Or is it more sinister and the MoD demands meat for the army?

They are just like other banks are asked to give credits to MIC, at the same time they have a huge amount of expedenture, they also have a free "ai" thing called gigachat and one to generate images kandinsky, so they spend a lot of money on infrastructure, which is also very costly, because they have problems buying new servers, and don't forget that russia has troubles with energy generation.

They are also in the process of replacing all digital infrastructure with "russian" software, so they are replacing for example Oracle to their own fork of Postgres, untested completly.

I know about software side of things, but according to him, it is all ogre there, i think Sber will layoff more than 25% of IT specialists desu.

And don't forget that Sber has a lot of bad credits because of developers, small and medium business that was put to slaughter, and consumers are also, dont pay loans back.

And the TSMAKP already made a predictions that russian banking system is in a very bad state, and that this fall it is all will unwrap.

ok i have been thinking about this a lot. one year contract, right? 12 months. i just need to keep my head down and get through it, then i come home with all debts paid and money saved.

from what i researched and heard from guys who came back, the key is getting the right assignment. not everyone goes straight to the front line there are logistics positions, тыл duty, supply roles. the recruitment officer said they need drivers and people who can do maintenance work. i can drive, i know some basic repair from working on cars, maybe i give bribe to officer for better job. this is нopмaльнo, everyone does it.

i am not trying to be hero. i am not there for medals or glory. i do my job, i keep low profile. avoid the штypмoвыe groups if possible.

worst case, if i get injured but nothing serious, you know, but enough for they send you home with compensation. i heard guys getting 2-3 million for injury. but i am hoping to avoid that. just stay in good position, do my job quietly, don't attract attention.

honestly i think the stories are exaggerated. дa, it is dangerous, yes some guys die. but some guys also come back fine with good money. what choice do i have? stay here and drown in debt? at least this way my life is not dead end. one year is not so long.

>And the TSMAKP already made a predictions that russian banking system is in a very bad state, and that this fall it is all will unwrap.
Do you think it will be Sber that wobbles first? That's interesting. I can't remember where I had read it, but I thought Russian economists thought VTB was the most vulnerable of the big Russian banks. It's because, as you say, the government forces banks to lend to the MIC and VTB is their favourite apparently. The other banks do it too, but not as much as VTB - so VTB is cash starved for their other non-military banking duties and operations.

>russian banking system is in a very bad state
I have noticed that the central bank's weekly repo auctions have been increasing in volume. It's >1T rubles every week now. The interbank lending market isn't working if they have to rely on central bank emissions of this high of a volume every week for months now.

VTB will be the first to fall, monke forced them to buy out the russian ship building corporations, and it is a money black hole, with no production at all, and many expedentures.

>I mean if it works then good for them. The enterprise database software market is very uncompetitive. Most corporations just upgrade from whatever legacy systems they have to the newer version that their old provider makes and never ever ever consider switching. The market is ripe for a shake-up but computer boffins aren't interested in making ERPs.
Problem is that it is done in a very short time, and is filled with security problems, so i don't think it is something impossible for the ukraninans to hack into sber or vtb and delete everything there.

Government already passed a law that allows banks to ban you from taking money away under the pretence that you are not in the right mind, so they know that bank run is possible.

Songs of Syx runs really well and I was surprised to learn that it was made in fucking java of all things.
>>
>>518475125
Sorry I should clarify. I don't doubt that there are already serious manpower shortages for Russia but I don't know whether they think it's serious enough yet to warrant another mobilisation. We know that the Russian government is cautious about doing that again hence why they've avoided doing so and also awarded generous payouts for their volunteer kontractniks.
There's an imaginary threshold of X manpower loss that they would need to cross to trigger mobilisation and I'm not sure how close they are to it yet.
-165k dead per year and -220k wounded per year might be okay if there really are +400k fresh volunteers joining. On the other hand, if it's instead hundreds of thousands of worn down used up partially wounded kontractniks forced to sign over and over again with only a small trickle of fresh recruits then they must mobilise to sustain their atrophied offensive force and there's no avoiding that conclusion.

Why is C# better?
If I understand the advantage of Java is it can run anwhere a runtime environment is installed and its got some sort of "half-compiled code" setup to do that
Is C# doing something similar?
Or are you talking about how tools for C# look?

Your post prompted me to search "VTB Admiral Kuznetsov" and yep, the ship is owned by a company which is managed by VTB. That is telling.

>Problem is that it is done in a very short time, and is filled with security problems, so i don't think it is something impossible for the ukraninans to hack into sber or vtb and delete everything there.
Of course that's a big vulnerability. On a tangential note, I wonder whether the start of Russo-Chinese trade being devolved into bartering would mess things up here. Buying Chinese drone parts for some bushels of wheat isn't going to be fun for IT to code.
I don't think any software is built to handle non-currency pricing lol.

>they know that bank run is possible.
Istrebin suggests it's ongoing but I don't know where he gets his numbers from. Do you? What I like to check is the CBR's data for banking liquidity. As long as its still liquid I don't believe a bank run is happening just yet, but I do agree that it is a worry banks must have as the situation deteriorates.
They can't cut borrowing rates to ease interest payment pressures and stave off bankruptices whilst simultaneously keeping savers' rates high. It's one or the other and there isn't a free lunch to be had.

>Why is C# better?
Java is more like a language for dumb people, where all the edges are removed for smoother enterpries development, but it is also made the language quite bad at expressing the intention, so entrepries Java is super complex.
C# allows for much better and finer control than Java. So you can express yourself more precisely and also make the program runs faster.

>Is C# doing something similar?
C# is java done by Microsoft not Oracle. So it is the same idea, and also can run "anywhere".
Both languages doing the same thing, your code is not executed on the computer, it is executed inside of a virtual machine, something like a computer made with code. So both can in theory run anywhere, and Java does run on many things, on SIM cards for example. But so is C#.

>Or are you talking about how tools for C# look?
Tools also much better.

>Ah hell, don't waste your time, I probably just don't know enough about programming language sand programming in general to appreciate whatever you tell me of your experiences.
You can ask any questions, i like talking about programming, because i enjoy doing it.
Also I maybe biased because, my personal projects are mostly in C#, but at work i do Java and Kotlin.

doesn't matter if you manufactured it in taiwan, vietnam, or texas.

chinese dysprosium in your magnet? chinese gallium in your chip? beijing gets veto power over the sale.

this is the nuclear option. US spent 3 years trying to deny china access to advanced chipmaking tools. china just responded with chokehold on literally every semiconductor fab, AI data center, defense contractor, and EV manufacturer on earth.

everything runs on chinese rare earths. building alternative supply chains takes 5-10 years minimum.

we don't have 5-10 years. effective december 1st.

Okay, I somewhat understand what you mean
Java has more abstraction and less ability/ease to optimize processes at the low level but is otherwise similar to C# which is why you think C# is better
Didn't know that C# is so similar to Java
What are you working on for a personal project?

Can somebody give me the general consensus of which side is "winning"? For 2-3 years now I've watched as each side blows the other up. The drones started out dropping a single grenade and the target had a 50/50 chance of making it. The drones have gone from mediocre to guaranteed death in that time. But I cannot tell one side from the other. Who is doing all the drone flying and who is getting blown up? Is it 50/50 or is one side dominating the other, drone wise?

Dont think that you are too stupid for programming, just pick a book that intrests you or a good video tutorial, and don't be afraid of breaking something, computer won't die if you do something funny with Python or Java, C on the other hand.
So good luck to you and your journey.

Everything will be as it always is.
Either "the west"(tm) finds another rare earth source or alternatives, or we just straight-up invade China.
This is not fantasy or a hypothetical, either.
When a country is faced with a shortage of strategic goods critical for their country, you might as well throw down and start a war to acquire that resource. You might lose, but if you do nothing you already lost.
This is why Japan attacked the US in WW2, and this is why Russia attacked Ukraine.

So nothing to worry about. The chinks will get what's coming to them, though I don't blame neither them for withholding rare earths, nor would I blame the US for nuking China in response. It is what it is.

I've also started listening to Lipsits, I think you might have recommended him before lol, his vids are helpfully auto-dubbed.
Divestment and cessation of activities from businesses doesn't necessarily indicate a banking run btw. Especially if those businesses were export focussed and so didn't really hold much in rubles and earnt most of their money via FX - only converting to rubles what would be necessary to keep the domestic operation going.
That is to say that if an export-oriented Russian business loses income or winds down their operations in Russia, that shouldn't affect the Russian banking system that much because those businesses didn't have many rubles held in Russian banks to begin with. A type of business that's entirely focussed on Russia and doesn't export would be the construction sector for example and if they shut down then that loss of ruble generation and turnover would reverberate throughout the banking system.

I found using ffmpeg for two-iterations ans having utilizing the quality flag allows me to compress it
it's "lower quality" but you're just not gonna get anything better easily I fear

example of having a 42MB webm made by some autist here go down to 3.5MB
ffmpeg -i nigger.webm -c:v libvpx-vp9 -b:v 0 -crf 62 -pass 1 -an -f null /dev/null && ffmpeg -i nigger.webm -c:v libvpx-vp9 -b:v 0 -crf 62 -pass 2 -c:a libopus output.webm

The '-crf 62' flag is important
0 means best quality
63 means worst quality

Here's the original 42MB webm:

Here's the compressed 3.5MB webm:

Yeah the recession is all but confirmed. Even the huge boom in the MIC can't carry the rest of the economy which is either stagnant, and not keeping up with inflation, or shrinking.

>Do you have any ideas how monke can get out of the situation ?
Aside from withdrawing from Ukraine?
Has to be military hardware exports imo. That's fallen off a cliff since 2022. Obviously that's easier said than done now that we are 1,300+ days into the war.
From a foreign customer's POV, if there are weapons worth buying then Russia wouldn't export them but use them to win the war and win the war decisively and quickly. The fact that the war is going pretty badly for Russia, and is to start its fifth ongoing year in a few months, implies that there are no good bits of Russian military hardware worth buying.
Nevertheless, Ukraine and Russia are world leaders in everything drone related. There ought to be countries willing to pay a pretty tidy sum to acquire this expertise. Russia, famously, bought Iranian drone expertise with gold shipments across the Caspian for their Shahed technology. There are likely a handful of other countries, China included, who would do something similar for Russian expertise.
How you achieve this whilst avoiding sanctions and stuff- idk.
