Im a tradie and work service in residential homes. I recently went to a house where it was a line lady in her 80s and the husband was in his 90s and recently moved to an old folks home. Down in their basement was a cave that I went into and he had about a 4x8 room stuffed to the gills with ammo. Boxes and boxes of ammo, it had to have been worth a 100k or so. We won, and now you're not into it because it's not edgy or fringe anymore. It's normal to prep now.Best example of this can be seen with Covid masks and masks in general. 3-4 years ago liberals suddenly couldn't get any, now they all want them backstocked with rubber gloves and medicine. But increasingly they're buying food buckets, water tablets, portable batteries too. It's the business philosophy behind Starlink as well.

My prep is done. Almost 10 years of hiking I have completely refined my gear it is sitting there ready to go right now. My prep is based hiking and fishing/netting so I hike into the nearby mountains and set up nearby one of the many rivers, if the fish arent biting with the rod I have a gilnet, illegal to use but extremely effective. "Prepping" is kind of too broad because it really comes down to "for what?" There are so many variable scenarios that can happen. I think most people should have enough food and water and fuel for 2 weeks of no utilities but 2 months is probably best. More than that predicting gets difficult and what you "need" gets more and more far out. Few people can prepare for a total collapse and even fewer for something like a nuclear war or some weird cosmic shit.

Was into prepping way too early, I missed out on tons and tons of normie gains in the stock market, crypto etc because the collapse was only two weeks away.I never expected they'd just print the fuck out of the dollar and hyper inflate as a way to avoid collapse.Regardless yes it's not going to be fallout but the whole point is to be able to survive a few weeks if something big goes down, until the grid mostly gets back.
