>>518703307In 2015 the Obama administration had a pretty firm grip on power, it was the common thinking that democrats were imperviously popular and would be able to basically dictate anything they wanted into existence thru government. This was in large part due to censorship both in traditional television media and social media, and the party became blind to any dissent which they believed they had ridiculed out of relevance. Trump winning in 16 was a massive upset to the political order, completely flipping the table on all the political analysts and ass kissery that DC had turned into. They had to scramble to try and stop him and totally failed. His victory was *explicitly* due to the failures and unpopularity of the Obama administration, as the potential Clinton administration was just going to be a continuation of the policies and programs that had defined post recession America. Not to mention the wrench that it threw in their geopolitical plans in places like Ukraine and Syria. He openly pointed out their quite blatant corruption and very much damaged the idea that democrats were universally loved by everyone that was being pushed on every television broadcast outside of Fox News. A large portion of their response was simply the ego hit that they took, but another aspect is the fear of their crimes being brought to light. They threw everything they had at him in his first term and it completely destroyed the American political system, they even burned a lot of the pillars of their large tent, and by the time they forced Biden in, all the political capital had been spent and they simply couldn’t actually do anything, leading to one of the most embarrassing and useless administrations in American history, leading to a historic defeat that entirely wiped out all the progress democrats had made since the 90s in 24. To put it simply, they hate Trump because his popularity shows the county doesn’t like them at all, and that drives them literally insane.
