>BREAKING: China warns US of countermeasures if Trump does not walk back 100% tariff threat
Time is ticking, Amerimutts.
>>
>>518704886
It's ok, "le evil West" doesn't want to buy Communist products anyway
>>
>>518704886
China is in the "I wish a nigga would" phase of their Taiwan obsession. Like all thirdies, they believe in AGI and lust over the Taiwanese chips. It will be their undoing though. This little cyberpunk city, dancing robot, drone show dream will be over 6 months after the yellow man touches Taiwanese sand.
>>
>>518704886

"Muh countermeasures" are their own tariffs.

This is unfathomably stupid because it reinforces Trump's idea that tariffs hurts foreigners and doesn't hurt their own people. Nobody should use retribution tariffs. If americans have tariffs, it's their problem and their country, there's nothing to be mad at them for.

It's true that we have tariffs on american goods and shouldn't, however, Trump's idea of not having a trade deficit is also impossible, because the trade deficit is from public spending. He will always be angry at foreign countries as long as he doesn't understand this.
>>
are they going to send the chinese navy after us?
>>
>>518705584
I'm pretty sure the chinese can just make their own chips instead of invading Taiwan for the factory. Just look at how fast they're developing.

The trade war is one that the America simply cannot win. After joining the WTO, China literally transformed into the world’s factory.

Blame Bill Clinton, he was the one who persuaded the Republicans, who had opposed China’s WTO entry, and made it happen.

Without China, American prices would skyrocket.
>>
>>518705910
No one can "win" a trade war, because if you sabotage your country's trade then you're already losing.
>>
>>518705702
I will trust Trump over some random anon
>>
>>518705851
Nah. That last push would take them another 30 years imo. And at that point Taiwanese chips will be even further ahead.
>>
>>518705910
China's entire economy only exists through the communist party's monopolization tactics
>>
>>518706015

Ok but remember that Trump benefits from convincing people of his views, and benefits from tariffs because his administration collects money from them, and also because when new factories are built to produce things locally, he will also point at it and benefit from the propaganda, while people don't realize that it still made the country poorer overall.

Meanwhile, a random anon has no reason to lie, and anyone can freely respond and prove me wrong.

Trade war, embargo, tariffs, import restrictions is what domestic government does to its own economy during time of peace what an enemy nation do to you during time of war.

"China's final warning" (Russian: пocлeднee китaйcкoe пpeдyпpeждeниe, romanized: posledneye kitayskoye preduprezhdeniye) is a Russian ironic idiom originating from the Soviet Union that refers to a warning that carries no real consequences
>>
>>518706209
not really, the current global trade network is a zero sum game. Western countries are heaping investment on third world countries with no prospective future. Western life rafts have slowed to prop up third world economies and wealth is starting to rapidly dry up. China is in no position intellectually to lead anybody into the future. They're literally just some machine that shits out plastic and concrete.

Trump is playing with the future of the entire world and he showing how none of it actually matters

Come on man, you know, or should know, perfectly well, that if we couldn't buy appliances from china, and clothes from bangladesh and china, we wouldn't "have more jobs" and be richer, we would inevitably all be poorer, as the economy would objectively be less efficient and less productive.

Creating needs in order to create jobs benefits some people, for sure. Everybody wants less competition. For example in your country, there is a shortage of doctors due to the licenses they need, and they're rich. But for society as a whole, any restrictions to production or trade are bad.
>>
>>518706884
I don't think you understand how giving a company 20 dollars for a 5 cent shirt made in bangladesh actually isn't developing anything
>>
>>518707096
>isn't developing anything
What about the shirt
>>
>>518707140
the shirt is garbage, often undersized

Sorry. I think I wrote too fragmentarily.

I will explain the situation at the time in more detail.

At that time the Cold War had ended and the world began to rapidly come together.
It was then that the US committed two decisive mistakes.

The first was ignoring Russia, whose economy had collapsed along with the Soviet Union and whose people’s livelihoods were ruined. The result was the emergence of Putin. At the time Russia was to the point that it did not even have neighborhood supermarkets; if the US had actively intervened and rescued Russia then, there would be no Putin and Russia would have become a pro-American country.

The second was approving China’s accession to the WTO.

Bill Clinton believed that if China joined the WTO and became entangled with the world and globalized, it would inevitably democratize. But Republican lawmakers opposed this. They said, “Bill Clinton, that’s just your opinion. Look at what happened at Tiananmen. China will never democratize.”

But Bill Clinton persistently persuaded the Republicans, and eventually obtained their agreement. So China joined the WTO, and from that point a miracle happened in China’s economy.

China, overflowing with low-wage workers, quickly became the world’s factory of manufacturing. In effect, the USs itself gave up manufacturing and handed it over to China BUT china was not a country content to remain the world’s factory. They wanted to cut off centuries of humiliation and build a proud, superpower China.

When China’s total economic size exceeded Japan’s, the U.S. decided it could not just leave China alone, and from that time onward efforts to check China began

However, as China became the world’s factory, prices in the US fell and people’s quality of life stabilized. That was because China made things cheaply and quickly with low wages (If Americans made iPhones themselves, each one would cost more than $5,000. American wages are at least $4,000 per month)
>>
>>518707384
Your first mistake is not understanding the US purposefully built china.
>>
>>518707176
Then why do people buy it

You need to understand that people don't buy things that they don't want, or things that don't improve their lives. Businesses that are not contributing to people's lives, or have a better alternative, just go out of business.

No one gets consistently ripped off and keeps buying.
>>
>>518707623
When people go to the store they don't check the tags to see if the 20 dollar shirts have changed from Pakistan to Bangladesh. Why would they care? In the US you're mostly presented with one option and that option is some foreign made piece of shit, so people buy it without looking. You can always pay 5x the price to get a decent commercial grade product
>>
>>518706057
Not really we've pretty much reached the limit of how small chips can get

You should have saved the Kuomintang. Democracy is a system that can never develop in a poor Third World country.

There is a Korean proverb that goes, “When there are too many rowers in a boat, the boat goes up the mountain”

We also modernized during the era of the dictator Park Chung-hee. Why? Because a single intelligent leader, not swayed by nonsense, pushed policies through with determination and developed the country.

If China had remained the Republic of China under the Kuomintang, there would have been no emergence of a dictator, and it would have turned out like India.

I don't know the fact that north korea was an industrial powerhouse almost entirely thanks to the japanese really throws a wrench into the entire area's economic sovereignty
>>
>>518704886
Don't worry, USA will throw China a TACO soon enough.
>>
>>518707752

You're presented with one option because people never buy the alternative.

It's like when women say "Clothing brands want us to be half naked! Men are doing this to us!" yeah no, they are just whores, because in capitalism, production is driven by demand. They are sold slutty clothes because that's what almost all women buy so no one even manufactures anything else. A business can sell what the owner thinks people should want or what is best for people, but if people don't want it, he won't be able to keep it up for very long.

People are not victims. They want pakistan and bangladesh made cheap clothes. Me included btw, because "fast fashion" is bullshit, there's nothing wrong with them.

So basically what tariffs do is work against people's free choice and make them pay more for clothes so that other people can get a job making them. Which they did not want to do when given a choice. And it makes society as a whole poorer to make everyone pay to benefit one group (like what I said about doctors, they are rich but everyone else can't afford healthcare).
>>
>>518705584
6 more months until China collapses.
>>
Trump is about to go MAGA-TACO
No way he keeps these tariffs up. He is stuck in a government shutdown and willing doubt he can handle both at once. He surely isn’t going to compromise with democracts, that leaves giving China what they want and taking the L

The alternative is stagflation, poor economy and active duty soldiers not getting paid. Republicans will turn on him if all this happens

why are all chink shills scared of showing their flags?

Using your vast spanish intellect of international trade can you explain to me how paying somebody in bangladesh 5 cents for a shirt then loading it on a massive shitskin freight ship that dumps oil the entire 10,000 miles to the west makes sense
>>
>>518704886

Don't worry. It's TACO time
>>
Lol he's gonna fuck you guys up so, so bad. You've pissed off The Don. But no matter what Donald Trump wins. You never, ever, ever bet against Trump.
>>
>>518704886
Not to worry, all of those companies relocated to America and the Made in America goods are rolling off the production lines aren't they?
>>
>>518709728
Shut up, bitch
>>
>>518709816
most people from spain don't know shit about this, if they did the country would be better

it makes sense because it's what businesses choose to do when given a choice without tariffs or prohibitions, businesses choose whatever makes most economic sense
>>
>>518709645
Just psyops to make you hate China. The real Chinese are behind their firewall and don't have exposure or care about the outside that much
>>
>>518705702
We definitely should have a lot more tariffs on American goods, especially agricultural products, because they have massive subsidies from the government. That's why our supermarkets now are flooded with American beans. I can't even buy fucking garbanzos anymore without getting some American crap, grown with American govt subsidies and harvested by an illegal Mexican.
>>
>>518707877
Muttangutans can't save their own country and you expect them to save others ? lol
