/pol/ was wrong about Brutalism.
It is top-tier building design.
For years I bought into your bullshit. “muh concrete communist blocks,” “soulless modernism,” “looks like a prison.”
And then I stood beneath one.
A real Brutalist building. Cold wind slicing through the geometry like the breath of God through a megaphone. Raw concrete slabs rising like the bones of a civilization that refused to hide its structure behind frilly façades. It didn’t pretend to be pretty. It was honest.
You know what’s actually soulless? Your fake Georgian housing estates made of styrofoam cladding and lies. Your plastic cuck cottages with UPVC windows and roofs that’ll crumble faster than your whore mom gives out.
Brutalism doesn’t beg you to love it. It stands there, staring at you like a judge. And in that judgment, you feel small, but real.
There are no “shit tests” in Brutalism. No deceit. Just right angles, rebar, and concrete confidence.
The so-called “ugly” is outweighed by the sheer honesty of the form.
Fuck you, /pol/. You don’t deserve Le Corbusier. You don’t deserve Ernő Goldfinger.
Go find a Brutalist building and sit beneath it in the rain. Let it humble you.

This shit is ugly and tasteless. Years after it is built the raw concrete will have been eroded by water and have an ugly pockmarked appearance. It looks cheap, lazy, and stupid, it doesn’t reflect natural forms, it is an eyesore for most. If you like it, you have childish tastes, you want your art and architecture to be a fuck-you to everyone else around, where architecture should really complement the place it finds itself in. Grow up, tasteless guido. Look to your own past masters, they knew far better than to subject man to ugly geometry.

brutalism is cool and works under two rules
1. proper maintainance
2. surrounded by extensive nature for just one building

brutalism under those conditions gives humans defense and a sense of security against the raw and primal forces around them

if brutalist buildings are build in series, poorly maintained and outside of a 1:10 ratio with nature then they feel opressive and are dehumanizing grinding down the human spirit

Brutalism doesn't mean "oddly shaped garbage for redditard to pretend to like"
It comes from "beton brut" meaning raw cement or concrete.
It morphed into soviet style and structural impressionism but the main focus used to be the "patterns" left by the formwork.

This poster is a lying faggot jew who is wrong about Brutalism. He claims to have had some epiphany standing beneath a Brutalist structure, but we all know jews can't experience genuine awe or reverence for anything other than their own suffering. His paean to raw concrete and rebar is just another example of the jewish tendency to fetishize ugliness and decay. And let's not forget who designed them - Le Corbusier was a Swiss-French jew, while Goldfinger was Hungarian (probably a jew). So of course they would create soulless, dehumanizing structures that serve no purpose beyond self aggrandizing Jewish "intellect:. The poster's attempt to shame /pol/ for our accurate assessment of Brutalism is just another example of Jewish cultural warfare. They know their architectural style has no real value or beauty, so they try to gaslight us into thinking we're somehow too dumb or shallow to appreciate it. Fuck this lying kike and his fake appreciation for concrete monstrosities.

Gay. Retarded for the same reason the mcmasions are. Cost cutting on materials and skilled labor. Classical styles with classical materials and techniques or bust. I hate this shit just as much as people who pay through the nose for big heavy hard to source timbers and then just slap them together with an unholy amount of hardware and god awful plates rather than doing any real joinery and still have the audacity to call it timberframing. Whether it's in form or in material and labor costs exessive focus on pragmatism and utility in either case is antithetical to beauty. To build a truely beautiful building you must neccesaily build it in a way that requires real artisty.

Brutalism should only be allowed for specially designed garrison and industrial cities in the furure ethnostate.
Actual residential towns should be neo-classical or neo-gothic, art eco tolrated but only for financial districts.

But what matters the most is to not mix and match different styles, that's how you end up with globohomo garabage like London.

Victorian is a period, not a singular style onto itself. There are things victorian era architecture can have in common and there is overlap between styles in the period but it's not one singular thing. From your picture i'd say you like queen annes which are distinct from say, italianate and gothic revival that came a few decades before and influenced them. Then there's things like tudor revivals which are firmly in the victorian period but display significant differences here vs across the pond as it didn't become all that popular here until later aroudn the time the queen anne style was widespread so even though the style is older you can find many early 20th american entury tudor revivals with queen anne influences. My favorite victorian style is second empire.

>>518712748

Brutalist architecture was the nail-in-the-coffin proof that jews do not, did not, and cannot rotate the apple in their heads. When you can only build structures out of pulverized rock paste and in simple, geometric shapes, you need to go back to the drawing board and ask yourself why societies with less abundance managed to do inarguably more.

You can't 'sit beneath' a brutalist building because they require themselves to be properly anchored to the ground as one full complete structure. Shit like what you posted is only achievable in 2025 after a century of figuring out how to make concrete slightly less heavy, and that is a result of White people looking at gross jew buildings and going 'how to we make these better'.

Great irony in your gay slide thread declaration is that most of the buildings that keep falling over are, indeed, brutalist in nature. You don't see cathedrals toppling over until some brownoids light them on fire, do you? Then again, if your muse as a tribe is a fat fucking nagging yenta, I can see why the concept of curvature eludes you.

I like Brutalism if it is bright with plants

You're raising a good point. Use of water features is highly effective, probably moreso than even using greenery.
>>
>>518726914
That lighting really works in conjunction with the plants too
>>

I think Brutalism has its place but it's beat in environments that are otherwise inhospitable and where there's little natural beauty. Basically I think it should match the stark and bleak world that it resides in.

All the architects who came up with this were Communists. It was part of the attempt to demoralize people psychologically and spirtually.

Those detailed columns go a long way too. There's no reason details like that should be excluded, but haters like to pretend that it is impossible to add intricacies like this.

That backdrop is stunning too. Kind of reminds me of something that would be in the badlands of Night City.

Gee, I'm sure glad liberal capitalists never did this exact same thing by putting up the same glass boxes everywhere.

Brutalism is the norm when the human race loses its soul - i.e communist countries, future society,e tc
>>
>>518726914
The aesthetic of the end, where it's irrelevant if humans are extinct or not.

Brutalism with green shit is nothing but a post-human spiteful message from failed social engineers which didn't manage to transform humanity with architecture through their lifetime, and go on to tell you "you could be dead to me, I don't care".

In a hundred years all these building will be crumbling. Water seeps through the cement rusting the steel rebar over time. This causes the rusty steel to expand cracking the concrete. This continues until the whole structure looses integrity.

I would argue that post-modern minimalism is exactly this. That is the style that removes all character, sense of scale, and ornamentation that deprives one of any feeling or sense of place, culture, time, and especially socialization since it denies any unique features that might indicate greater force.

Brutalism in that sense is the opposite. While it is often deprived of ornamentation of a particular style that one may see in Gothic or Japanese traditional styles for example, the sense of scale that brutalism provides is an indicator of greatness and greater forces. To look at that and become envious is kind of bizarre, but I notice people who affiliate with the liberal-capitalist ideology use that as their excuse for hatred. Maybe they have inferiority complexes, but they risk detaching themselves from the greater world by holding such views.

Some concretes now are nearly as strong as steel themselves. I'm not sure how they do it, but the qualities of mixtures have come a long way. That's not even including self-healing concretes like the Romans used to make.

Brutalist post-war housing in the UK was a huge upgrade from the tenament hovels people lived in before. My grandparents moved from a two bedroom croft house with no electricity or running water into a high rise flat in the 50's and loved it

Houses like that only make sense in the countryside, where again the flora is doing heavy lifting. Brutalism, to be fair, only really makes sense in communal areas. Ministries, industrial buildings, perhaps libraries and city halls. With a little imagination, brutalist materials can adapt other styles as well. Sliding or ogive door frames, steepled or volute roofs, carvings, Greek columns, or more.

*Two room, not two bedroom. Literally had a room with seating and a wood stove and another room with beds and a fireplace. No indoor plumbing or toilet. It was the their first house after getting married in the 40's

Yeah, that's a monumental improvement. I couldn't imagine not having water. Maybe limited electricity... But not water would be horrible.
