Hello Anons, continuation of an earlier thread where we discuss possibility that Notre Dame and Chartres, might have been built by old pagan builders who carried Odinic symbols and sacred geometry
It feels like the old gods are still carved into the stones of Europe ..

The floor mosaic seems to echo the Odal rune, and similar symbols appear carved into the woodwork, floors, and stone throughout the cathedral
Is this why (((they))) burned it down?

Pagan just means "rural". It was used by roman urbanites to mock the more primitive forms of worship outside of rome.

Odin is the norvegr way of pronouncing "Ghodan", the proto indo european root word for God. The souvegr way to pronounce it was "Wotan".

There is no difference between paganism and christianity. It's the same religion, just updated to include jesus christ as an avatar of God and unified under the "universal" (catholic) roman priesthood. This is why all the rituals and holidays are identical, including the worship of astara (goddess of spring, symbolized with rabbits and eggs) during easter and the use of the sacrificial tree during christmas.

There was no "forced conversion". It's just the natural transformation from having thousands of years of semi-isolated communities oral traditions being mushed together and reformed into a standardized and written tradition, which caused the previously "living" lore to become static in the form of the bible, which also required cutting out of undesirable or incompatible content. Christianity spent essentially the first 600 years trying to come up with a universal canon that was acceptable to everyone in northern europe. The judean branch had completely died out by then due to the extinction of all judeans (jews are frauds from babylon -> hence babylonian talmud).

Subsequently there is no "judeochistianity", an invention of the 1970's by US jews.
There is only pagan christianity of roman standard.

Wodanaz is not equivalent to God.

The modern German cognate for Odin is Wut [rage].

Odin, id est furor. Nothing to do with theonymic categorization of God.

Odinists were so prevalent and so careful about preserving their culture that it took Christian monks to write down literally everything we know about Norse mythology hundreds and hundreds of years later, which had been abandoned as a coherent organized belief system for hundreds of years before the conversions even happened.

Romans with the excuse of
>your deity is the same as mine so you must worship it using mine's name, but hey, they are both the same (happy face) (happy face)

Erased most of Celtic, Iberian, Punic, Berber, Balkanic, etc., pantheons.

Christians at least recorded Pagan cults and tried to separate it from their own instead of forcing you to forget your own pantheon with the excuse of "all gods are le same"

It's reddi schizo research. They just slam like-detail with like-detail and call it hidden knowledge because they feel inferior when confronted with the vastness of history and can't read anything but catlady memes. You could start a story about how all really big rocks used to be buildings and then they melted from a space weapon and they would eventually believe it and build lore around it randomly and call it "researching" -and that's not just any template example either, its an actual reddit conspiracy theory that they already do believe.

The only reason we remember Celtic pantheon is because Christian monks from Ireland recorded it, as well Celtic myths during Early Middle Ages.

The few we know about Spanish paganism from Cantabrians, Asturians, Basques and Gallicians comes from St. Isidore of Seville (once again and Early Medieval Christian Monk) and XVIII century Jesuit antropologists.

We have NOTHING about pre-Roman pantheons from Spain, Balkans, Gaul, Africa, etc., from Roman writers.

Romans were masters at erasing entire cultures.

The very origins of Jewish diaspora in Europe was caused because Jews refused over and over to worship Jupiter. Before Roman conquest of Judea, Judaism was another ethnic-religious community exclusive from Levant and Egypt, as many other ethnic cults of the region such as the Assyrian, Persian, Hellenic, etc.

This is absolutely true. For the same reason the Greeks eventually accepted Christianity, Europeans did as well. The reason is that it unified a previously fractured belief system, so rather than multiple gods being worshipped individually, it was understood they were all aspects of the ONE God above.

It did not wipe out the imagery and symbolism of our history. Actually the opposite, it preserved it in a way that was logical, as you've discovered.

Even the Holy days are lifted and repurposed.
>>
>>518722931
If Europe wasn't 99% the same religion when the Muslims arrived it would have been shortly after.
You were always going to get something functionally identical to medieval Christianity whether it called itself the church of Balder or the imperial cult of sol Invictus. The structure of a winning religion is fixed.
>>
>>518723852
Nope. Go and read Roman writers.

Tacitus was the only one I could name since he did a shitty try to record German stuff, and he did it terribly job because most of the deities he named didn't even exist by the time of Charlemagne, whose monks did a massive work at recording the Pagan customs of Gallo-romans and Germans.

Same for Welsh monks who recorded Briton paganism that later on did birth Arthurian myths.

Again, Romans were masters at erasing cultures with the excuse of ecumenism.

None of them left a recorded work about other cultures religions. Not even about the customs. Strabo is even worse because the fucker gives bad geographical descriptions.

Again, the main sources about Paganism come from Medieval Christian Monks. Had it been for Romans nobody would know anything about other cultures pantheons.
>>
>>518724337
Yeah, I can see that. In fact I think that's the likely response of an elite trying to get ahead of the concept I described- thus controlling it. So I believe you are correct, and so am I.

And furthermore, I can see motions to destroy it all using their control of Christianity.

None and we know about him because of archeology, not because of Roman records.

But since you mention it.

It was St. Isidore of Seville who recorded in his Etymologies one of the most important myths of Galician culture, that of the king Briga that conquered the peninsula and stablished a tower from were his grand-son, Mil, saw Ireland and sailed there with the Milesians to conquer it; the very same king called Breogan by Irish in the recorded by monks Lebor Gabála Érenn, the most important book about Celtic mythology.

And not counting Isidore's mention and description about the Indal, a good luck symbol from Andalucia dating back to Neolithic era. Or other medieval monks works about the genealogy of pre-Roman heroes of Spain such as the ones that sailed to Sardinia to conquer it.

Once again, had it been for Romans, we had know absolutely nothing about Celts and many other pantheons.
