I know it sounds shitposty, but I'm asking sincerely as someone who would like to believe but doesn't. There's obviously loads of utilitarian reasons why it's good to be religious, both for yourself and for society, but it's still hard to get over the hump of believing God incarnated himself 2000 years ago, did a bunch of miracles, died for our sins, and was resurrected. It seems to me like the resurgent Christianity in places like /pol/ is just another culture war thing to own the libs. Am I wrong?Don't care to hear about other religions—that stuff's obviously fake, whether or not people believe it.

>>519334999DNA is our Soul.We born from Chaos and die from Death.after that eternal sleep awaits us.no emotions, no feelings, no memoriesabsolutely nothing.
>>519334999I do because I studied occult practices and saw what I would verify as the realm beyond the world as we know it. No drugs, no adulterations to my meditations and studies. The name of Christ, spoken is several languages, holds authority and I believe in He who sent the Son. I'm by no means one of these "anti-European" types that espouse civic nationalism and other nonsense either. We have far too many Caananite (Jews) spammers here attempting to do their master's great work and push people away from God. That too revealed to me that if something makes the metaphorical Devil shake with anger, it may very well be the truth.
>>519336662Interesting. You went from occultism to Christianity? Or you study Christian occult?
>>519334999
I do
>>519334999Yeah probably a fungi and we are all mushroom spores or something along the lines of fungus
>>519334999I do
People have a strawman concept of what a god might beThen it’s easier to be dumbfounded at any believersOf course the average person you sample in any group has a high probability of being near the middle of the bell curve so their concept is similarly easy to shit on
>>519336829I was raised in one of those faithful but somewhat watery non-denominational households. That came to disgust me because they were so easy to manipulate with modern sensibilities. I sought out orthodox, but it was my now wife that brought me to the realization of Roman Catholicism. In the time before I met her, I dove into my studies of the spirits, especially the more easily roused "malevolent" variety. Let me tell you if you do manage to catch one's interest, the feeling is indescribable. If you've ever seen "who framed Roger Rabbit", You feel like the cartoon character looking at the real life detective. You feel fictional, as if what you're encountering is what really is. They have width, height, depth, and something more than that. That's not something you can mistake for a drug trip or some kind of naturally occurring shadow or somesuch. In any case it's very personal to me this experience, and unfortunately not something I can publicly put through the scientific method to show others a repeated pattern. If mankind ever reaches that point I wonder how far reality will change.
>>519334999>Christianity in places like /pol/ is just another culture war thing to own the libsIt doesn't be like that. They don't go to church and then said church gets sold to Muslims. It's the curse of Al zutt
>>519334999It’s not a question of belief, God is the fundamental truth about the nature of reality. Nobody cares about “owning the libs.” Those useful idiots are an irrelevant nuisance in a larger conflict between good and evil.
>>519337423With all due respect, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
>>519334999Listen I don't know much about religion but I do know that homohammed got violently zutted in the desert and made his friend watch
>>519337722That doesn't sound any different from "God is just, like, the whole universe, maaaan" hippie nonsense. At that point, you might as well just be an agnostic or—God help you—a Unitarian.
>>519334999>it's still hard to get over the hump of believing God incarnated himselfThe trinity is an irrelevant nuisance. Jesus really was God’s messiah, that’s all you need to know.
>>519337854Frame it however you want, it’s the truth.
>>519337326Interesting experience. I can see how that would lead you to Christianity. I won't deny I sometimes feel drawn to the occult just as a way of testing whether there's something beyond reality, but I worry it'd be very bad for my mental state/soul.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
>>519337973Oh it's very bad, to the point where it's forbidden to consort with spirits, biblically speaking. It's a good reason, as without being initiated properly, they can fool you, or even destroy your life depending on the kind of foothold they get. Remember these are not robots or beasts. They're more like scientists locked behind bars. Genius level intellect. They've watched you grow from a child into an adult and know you're every secret, cataloged and whatever form of records they keep. They knew you're a grandfather, your grandfather's grandfather, and your family line across generations, evolutionary divergences, and so on. If they could consort with man commonly, we would likely have colonized the stars by now, in a perverted wayward form of what God planned, of course. Alas, I digress. It's something I dove into because faith alone wasn't enough for me. Anyone can tell you you should believe in something and trust in your heart, or ask for miracles. For me, that left too much to personal perception of positive things. They could all be explained away. If you do dive into that direction that I took, you may very well find your answer, but it won't be free like salvation is offered. It's a risky gamble. I found the risk worth the reward.
>>519338315I'm fairly rationalist by nature, and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to make the leap of faith without having some sort of direct experience with the supernatural, hence the allure of the occult. But I'll admit, I haven't tried very hard to believe in God the standard way.
>>519334999Exact opposite here.Looking at the very Bible and the history and the supernatural explosive growth of Christianity, it's impossible to deny it.I understand atheism at the emotional level but truly denying Christianity is impossible.
>>519334999> believing God incarnated himself 2000 years ago, did a bunch of miracles, died for our sins, and was resurrected.Yes, that’s why faith comes from God.
>>519334999Yes. "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong." 1 Corinthians 16:13
>>519339433There's also things like sin, shame, inherent values, order in nature, etc. atheism is nonsense when you give it more than a sec of thought. But are you obligated to be rational? Is it a responsibility? What if your rationality is faulty because you're retarded?
If you're not sure the Bible is the word of God watch: youtube.com/watch?v=9l5ZEsXjNVI1 Cor. 15:3-4: “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” How to know you're saved: youtube.com/watch?v=EAtR40sue5MRomans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”Jesus Christ is God who has come to earth from heaven in the flesh. He died as a sinless sacrifice for the sins of the whole world to save you from eternal hell, the punishment for your sin. He was buried, then resurrected and is now in heaven. John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Romans 10:9: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. John 10:28: "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."God wants to forgive you, but you have a choice: Either choose this evil world and be punished along with it, or choose to submit to the will of God and be saved. Your own deeds, no matter how good you think they are, can NEVER justify you. You're corrupt and need to be saved. Romans 5:9: “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, in what HE did for you. Only He can wash away all of your sins with His blood. Salvation is a gift, it can't be earned. Do you choose the righteousness of God or your righteousness? Heaven or hell?Eph. 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” youtube.com/watch?v=BbPchtYsXNoyoutube.com/watch?v=_VRT2FFXntc

>>519339879See, it's this kind of stuff that I'm talking about. You just seem like you're into Christianity as an online meme and will most likely move on to something else next year.
>>519334999Youre probably just young. The older you get the more you realise that the most logical explanation for the universe is that God created it and the most logical candidate for God is the God of the Bible.
>>519334999Oh I do. I saw miracles myself. Even before that I believed, the universe had to be created by an Intelligence, there is no way around it. And this Intelligence is god, he who is beyond time and space, and he loves us so much, that he gave is only son, that whoever believes in him and his resurrection will have eternal life. The others will be..destroyed. We live in the literal middle earth. a place where there is God, but not everywhere. In this world everyone can decide to be with god or against, and it shows. Hell is a place where there is 0 God, where those go who decided to not believe even if they knew about Jesus. Who decided that they can do better than God. I don't know what it will look like or what kind of place it is or if it even exists, but I know that heaven and hell are real place, and my mind is 100% convinced. Once you experience Gods grace glory and love you can never go back, once you believe that Jesus died for you and took the sin of the world upon him because he loved us so so much, then you will see and feel that all of it is real. God is here right now in this moment next to you, and he is crying. Crying because you refuse to see, he is your parrent, your creator and he loves you so much that he would die a billion times over and over again for you and yet you do not see or aknowledge him. Imagine that feeling. Imagine that feeling for billions of people, because he felt it at the cross for every single one of us yet to be born. A father who is ignored and hated by his children every day, and in the end, he will say "You did not want to be with me, it pains me but I don't know you" And he will cast you to hell. A place you chose yourself, a place where he is not, where nothing of him exists. You chose to live like it even though you KNEW about him and people told you about him you ignored it, worked against this thought even

>>519334999its really just a question of whether or not you want to even attempt to appeal to higher forces, and if so then which faith is the best bet for it(spoilers, it's the one that took over the empire that allegedly executed it's messiah to begin with and then spread across the globe BTFOing every religion and society in it's way)
>>519334999With luck one day you will have an experience that helps you believe in God, the divine, the creative energy of the universe- whatever you want to call it.Don't confuse religion with God. There are 300 religions, they all point to God. Look where religions are pointing and don't get hung up on words that men wrote down long ago.
>>519337860Its not irrelevant. You need to know who Jesus is.>Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.https://biblehub.com/john/4-10.htmThere are so many instances where Jesus claims to be the Sovereign LORD God of Israel, and theres more passages stating that the Messiah is God in the Tanakh than in the New Testament, but this is another.Jesus here is (again) explicitly claiming one of God's titles as His own. God calls Himself the fountain of living waters, when Jesus says if the woman knew who He was then she would have asked for living waters, he is explicitly asserting that He is this fountain.>For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. There is no one else.>Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.https://biblehub.com/isaiah/45-21.htm
>>519340532How old is old?Zoomers are calling themselves old at 24
>>519334999Frankly, why wouldn't God exist? The creator is knows by his creation. And why wouldn't he write a book that provides a foundational narrative along with instructions on how we should live our lives. Seems very reasonable to me.
