Is my map of historic French regions accurate? What is your favorite historical region of France? Politically and culturally speaking, Which is the best to move to?

My personal favorite is Franche-Comte

Yea kinda. I'm looking for like the tribes and stuff in Europe before they made huge governments. I wanna do a euro free for all but I'm at my wits end. I was looking for the forest Gaul French and German area people to fight other places

Ah, I see. Well, the last Gaulish speakers are believed to have gone extinct in 600 AD, but French are largely just the descendants of Latinized Gauls.

A good way to find maps of tribes before bug governments were formed as you put it is to just look up a particular nation. Or a map of Europe at a certain time.

Here’s a good example of what I mean. A map of West Slavic Tribes. These tribes are the ancestors of and responsible for modern-day Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia.

However, historical regions don’t always align with where a particular tribe lived. Some tribes occupied multiple regions, some regions had multiple tribes

On this map, the Pomeranians, Polans, Masovians, Slezans, and Vistulans are responsible for forming the Polish nation.

Czechs (also known as Bohemians) and Moravians are responsible for modern day Czech Republic. The two historical regions of Czechia are Bohemia and Moravia, with Bohemians also being known as Czechs, and they got their name to be the country. Slovak tribe are obviously Slovaks.

there is no such thing as "french"
france was always colony of monarchs ruling from paris
thats also where the language was imposed
half of "france" didnt even speak french until 200 years ago
you dont understand the country if you keep looking for imaganiry "french" that dont exist
ever since they overthrow their monarchy the country collpased because that was the only thing that kept the country together
