The chapter about Rome for example talks about how the first one to do the foul practices of creating money was a Roman patrician. I've been on the fence about it, but it claims to be a very private IBM instruction document and while well written it's hard to believe all at once. As someone who seems keenly interested in modern financial mechanisms the central claim of the text is that all economics is essentially repurposed formulas from electrical engineering. Does any of the other books you read confirm this? I can't help but take it somewhat seriously because modern economics as we know it is directly south of Maxwell's equations.
