The US wouldn't dare a large scale ground offensive and unless they make decapitation strikes, that's what they're in for. Venezuelans are crazier than the Vietnamese, although I'm sure the US can find more assistance in the local militias than they could've in Vietnam. For the right price that is.

Initial strikes very successfull.
Venezuelan navy, air force etc, mostly destroyed on the ground and in port
Most army bases raped by f35s and missiles
Significant portion of Venezuelan leadership incinerated in their beds with their families
US backed NGO and puppet gov in exile get large crowds on the streets to cheer Yankee liberators
These people are killed by loyalist militias
US marines land to provide security for puppet government and secure oilfields
Oil fields are set on fire
IEDs, snipers and car bombs get started creating new wave of US veterans without limbs and propensity to eat shotgun barrels
Problem presented by securing country 2x the size of Iraq but covered in jungle like vietnam suddenly presents itself to US planners for first time
US withdraws a few years later, 500billion poorer, 100s dead troops 1000s amputees and cripples
Puppet government left behind falls 2 months later
