Jack Ruby visited his longtime Rabbi Hilell Silverman, an ex-member of the IDF and V.P. of the ZOA, twice at his Synagogue, on the evenings of Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd, before assassinating Lee Harvey Oswald on Sunday the 24th, 1963. Rabbi Hilell Silverman then skipped town to serve in a rabbinical position in Los Angeles in 1964, and would go on receive an award from the Prime Minister of Israel for "meritorious service to Israel and the Jewish people" in 1974, just a year after the ten-year anniversary of the assassination. But all throughout this time, he remained in close contact and constant visitation with Ruby while he was imprisoned.Jack Ruby stated that he murdered Oswald "so the Jews would not be blamed for Kennedy's death". This appears to be more meaningful than many would like to believe. Kennedy's assassination was a collaborative effort between Mossad and disaffected ex-CIA elements. As the ex-CIA trained and prepared one useful idiot in New Orleans, the Mossad prepared another in Dallas.
