>>519406406It's the East Wing. It's a separate building connected to the historic, main part of the White House (Executive Residence) by a corridor. They used it as a visitors entrance and for First Lady / social event type stuff. It's the least important or historic part of the White House compound, and was only built in 1942 to mostly conceal the construction of the Presidential safety bunker underneath it. The Executive Residence is the old, main historic building that you imagine when you think of the White House. And the West Wing (Oval Office, Situation Room, etc) is another separate building with offices where lots of actual Presidential business happens. It's connected to the rest of the White House with another corridor on the opposite side.
Now is not the time to be wasting money on this superficial bullshit...the country is in a dire position and needs immediate real fixing not a wasteful shiny gold White house ballroom for some personal flexing by the president...
I would advise Trump to bring back the memphis style. It has got that optimistic bright future vibe America needs.
