I got jumped by 5 of them for walking down the street while being white in Newport News, VA.I can't really remember what happened other than just suddenly a dude with a bat coming at me and others suddenly coming up behind me.I woke up in the hospital later that night and there were 3 of them in the hospital with me from what the paramedic that brought me in told me, all of them in police custody for transfer to jail once they recovered...so I guess I gave back some for what I got.Somehow just ended up with a broken fibula and a lot of facial bruising and a mild concussion out of it and recovered in a couple weeks.But yeah random black violence is a thing. I just didn't know you couldn't walk around being white in Newport News, I was from out of state where walking around being white isn't a health hazard.
