Is a car really freedom?
>>
A passport has been freedom for me.
>>
To me it is. I fuckin hate public transport.
>>
>>519418240
ANYWHERE!
>>
>>519418240
You can stay in one spot and get bombed or you can run. That's what a car means. Choice to get bombed later, or lesser.

No, you can't Escape From New York or Los Angeles.
>>
>>519418240
No, but off road vehicles are.
Roads are slavery
>>
>>519418240
Yes, you don't have to sit beside some retard that smells like shit.
>>
in the city? no
>>
>>519418240
It's nice to have. Of course traffic sucks since the infrastructure wasn't built to account for rapid population growth, and Americans are on drugs and mentally ill so there's a lot of unpredictable retards on the road.
>>
>>519418240
Yes, you don't have to wait for some scheduled pickup. You just go when you want. There is no guarantee millions of others wont have the same idea at the same time though
>>
>>519418525
You still have to go along the schedualed allowed pathway much like public transport you dont have the freedom to go where you wish.

Walking is a form of freedom
And offroad vehicles are the walking of vehicles aka freedom
>>
It means you’re free to not get stabbed to death by some joggers on public transport, but also free to get pulled over and shot by a pig on a power trip
>>
>>519418240
Freedom to be a slave
>>
>>519418767
In a way both public transport and traditional road vehicles are slavery.
Freedom is akin to walking, horseback riding, and offroad vehicles.

The ability to go where you please, how you please, without the limitations of designated pathways.
>>
>>519418750
>Walking is a form of freedom
By your logic it isn't. You still have to stick to those sidewalks, don't step out in the street those are for cars
>>
>>519418240
no the true freedom is being forced to stay where kikes want you to be
>>
Like air, water, food, and sex, the downsides of lacking a car only become obvious when you lack one.
>>
>>519418240
nothing is freedom when you live in a city.
>>
>>519418240
Not if you live in a liberal city

Are two gay people who completed and signed some paperwork really a married couple?
>>
>>519419004
You can go off the side walk
You can walk across the road
You can go into the forest
You are not limited to the sidewalk and if you are then you're retarded
Have you never been off the approved pathways?
>>
>>519418240
Not in a city, save rare occurrences. Sub rural and rural they are a necessity.
>>
I just enjoy the boomer seethe at me for being a 32 year old man and not having a car. I simply don't care or need one. But every boomer literally can barely contain their rage that I don't have or want one and it's highly amusing
>>
>>519418240
Absolutely
I lived in a major city once and used public transport and it was hell

Based. Fuck car niggers.
>>
>>519418240
All things equal, having a car gives you more freedoms. However, being unable to walk or take public transit as an alternative option is not freedom.
>>
>>519419004
> don't step out in the street those are for cars
I hate to break it to you, but that is a limitation caused by cars, not by walking.
>>
>>519418240
Yes; stop showing 2000s footage of Atlanta. Not every place is fucking clogged like that shitty oversized gas station of a stop.

The only people who give a shit about not having cars are moronic commies who think their food spawns in the bins at the store. If you don't like the concept of forward motion via tiny firework explosions that turn dead dinosaurs and pulverized diamonds into cool noises, you are gay and inhuman.
>>
You can drive away from that. It might take a while, but you can even drive to the middle of nowhere.
>>
America being a slave to the automobile industry is a factor to the continuous decline.
>>
>>519418905
Nothing, and I mean *nothing*, will only increase freedom. Something may increase freedom to do one thing, but at the expense of constraints elsewhere. For example, public transit increases the freedom to get around, unsaddled by the debt and costs of owning a car, but at the expense of having to follow a bus or train schedule. Having a car increases your freedom to begin your trip at whatever time you see fit, but at the expense of having to maintain and store you car, as well as adhere to traffic laws, consent to stops by police, etc… Walking increases your freedom to avoid all of the above, at the expense of having to expend calories and move slowly. Biking is a nice middle ground for the person who likes to walk, but you still have to store and maintain your bike.

A good city will be designed to allow multiple options for people to pick and choose at different times based on their circumstances. The issue with America is we do not do that. Your only options are (1) a car or (2) sitting next to a crack head on a bus to nowhere.

Physical and mental health are the ultimate freedoms, next comes money and income, next comes not being controlled by the state or individuals. A car is pretty far down the list when you think about it
>>
>>519418240
Yes, but not if you live in a maggothole like US cities.

If we erased car loan debt, car maintenance fees, and the financial burden of cars overall, it would free up 2 trillion dollars in the economy for households to save with. Cars are a major reason we have a shrinking middle class.

And this doesn’t even include the psychological impacts. Less walkable neighborhoods involve less socializing, less community, less focus on local activities and businesses. There are fewer ways to date or just enjoy your environment. All activities must be planned in advance and facilitated by en expensive machine work 100 computers and tracking devices in it. The whole thing is so fucked up, it’s crazy people don’t realize it.

Cars are freedom, that's why only White men should be allowed to own them. But we can also walk when we want.

Yes, but living in a city is self inflicted bondage
>>
>>519421139
People who defend reliance on cars don't realize that their main use is to centralize the economy to the major cities they hate. Without cars, corporations lose access to the lifeblood of all of the US. Unironically so many things need to be reverted, car reliance and brown people being the two biggest things

Im advocating for off road travel
Not for only walking.
Horseback riding and offroad vehicles offer the same freedom to go where you please as walking but at faster paces.

Obviously there are trade offs like expending callories vs feeding an taking care of an animal vs mantaining a vehicle and keeping it fuled up.
I dont think public transport or roads should be banned tho, but they ultimately are a form of slavery

Crazy how I've been pulled over dozens of times in my life (once for going 161mph in a 65mph highway in the States going to Minneapolis, as a traveling accountant for a major firm). I had my license revoked for that one and the cops impounded my car and the company came down hard on me.

And I'm still alive and still have my job. Crazy huh.

Lol the Cop marched up to my car I thought he was going to tear me a new one. Instead he just says "where the fuck are the wings on this thing?"

I'm like "excuse me officer"

He's like "oh I'm sorry you were going so fast I thought it was a fucking airplane"

"Step out of the vehicle."
>>
>>519418240
Yes
Look at all those thousands of people, free to get where they need to go without being shoved in a box full of niggers
It's beautiful
>>
>>519421704
Imagine getting stopped by an armed representative of the state dozens of times while simply trying to get from A to B and thinking you’re free because you didn’t get physically harmed during those stops.
>>
>>519421567
So you think living in any city is a form of slavery then?
>>
>>519418240
>Is a car really freedom?
Yes. It is the freedom to go where you want, when you want, with whomever you want. A car is the epitome of freedom and american expression.
>>
>>519418240
Depends. In the countryside you cant live without but in the city its just unnecessary expense unless you visit countryside often.
>>
>>519418410
A dual sport is the freest vehicle ever if you're talking about freedom. I can go almost anywhere I want. If I'm leaving a big parking lot I don't have to ride around looking for the exit I can just ride over the curb and get onto the road. Once I missed a highway exit on this big limited access interstate and the next one was 60 miles away. I ended up just riding off the highway through the woods alongside it until I found a road to get back on.

>Imagine getting stopped by an armed representative of the state dozens of times while simply trying to get from A to B and thinking you’re free because you didn’t get physically harmed during those stops.
I've had a license since I was 16 and gave can speeding my whole life. First car I got was a 1994 Pontiac Trans am t-top. I got that thing up to 360 horsepower in my dad's shop.
>>
>>519418240
freedom from niggers and jews, and also pajeets why not.
>>
driving is fun as long as you're on the open road, except I've noticed the past couple years driving at night with these dudes on the road having their high beams on at all times lol
