Thailand is too Thai

Why are we so surprised when the most senior positions in Thailand are filled almost exclusively by people who are Thai?

For example..The Lord President: Thai. The Lord Justice Clerk: Thai. Every High Court judge: Thai. The Lord Advocate: Thai. The Solicitor-General: Thai. The chief constable of Police Thailand: Thai. Every deputy chief constable: Thai. Every assistant chief constable: Thai. The head of the Law Society: Thai. The head of the Faculty of Advocates: Thai. Every prison governor: Thai.

That’s not just justice.

The chief medical officer: Thai. The chief nursing officer: Thai. The chief veterinary officer: Thai. The chief social work adviser: Thai. Almost every trade union in the country headed by people who are Thai.

In the Thai Government, every director-general is Thai. Every chair of every public body is Thai.

That is not good enough.
