Why don't we just get rid of politicians and vote on everything directly via monthly online ballot measures?

No more lobbying kikery, no more 2 party dichotomy, no more corruption, no more clown politician sideshows, etc.

founding fathers did that and it sucked ass

Who/how is it decided what isssues are voted on?
Who gets to write the ballot measures?
How would more complex matters like setting a budget be done with millions of people voting on it directly?

Keep a few politicians to nominate ballot measures and agree on verbiage for them (similar to how it's already being done).
They can also be in charge of implementing the policy that people decide.

Same way they're already doing it, just have the final versions be voted on by people instead of politicians.

Basically politicians do the legwork but then final decision that they would themselves vote on goes to the people (this is already being done on a small scale, just expand it to everything else and put it online).
Millions of people likely wont vote on everything, most people don't give a shit, only if a hot issue comes up or at a federal level (this would get the most use at a local level).

The main issue with direct democracy is it's too radical.
Putting issues to a mass vote would lead to instability and social upheaval pretty quickly.
If you want a state and society to succeed then need to have some amount of stability.
Politicians actually have something to lose (their prestige and power) whereas the majority of people would vote to eliminate income taxes and give themselves $2,000 a month checks because why not the consequences won't affect them anyways since they've already got nothing to lose.
Letting only the people with something to lose make decisions keeps the direction of the state much more conservative which is better for everyone in the long run (no one actually wins in an anarchy situation despite whatever protests the poor might have you're NOT better off scavenging supplies with a band of raiders than going to your 9-5 mcdonalds shift)
Having some amount of corruption in government is actually a feature not a bug.

The actual problem is picrel.

If you had a popular vote, we would massively increase public spending and eliminate all taxes. Most people are just absolute fucking retards who don't understand tradeoffs, mathematics or economics.
