The only reason Democrats are hated is because they've fortified themselves as the establishment since 2008. As the pendulum swings, Republicans will be hated for the same reason. Americans will always hate the current establishment no matter who or what.

The rise culture wars in the early 2010s is entirely to do with Occupy Wall St. The elites got scared seeing Americans on both sides of the aisle close to class-consciousness and thus ramped up the propaganda tenfold.
Every time you bicker about something as trivial as which sock puppet was in power for the last 20 years they get exactly what they want, a distraction. It's no coincidence that both parties who have tribalistic levels of inflammatory rhetoric against one-another all agree on supporting some tiny shithole in the middle east the size of Manhattan.
Maybe not the younger generation, sure, but those in power right now, absolutely.
