My municipality still has old Hid lights on public roads, while surrounding municipalities all have LEDs everywhere, and I prefer driving and walking where LEDs are installed. If I'm not mistaking, along the roads and pedestrian zones LEDs are 3000k ć, while some installed in parks and forest trails are 2200k (certainly more orange than on the roads). There's also less glare and my eyes are blinded less if I look directly at them compared to HID. Some LEDs are almost a decade old and they all work wonderful.

Fluorescent and Neon lighting just involves heating up and/or electrically exciting a gas media which has a much lower thermal mass than a solid media like tungsten. So it's energy efficient but still relatively wasteful because it's not directly producing photons of the desired band. There is some truth to the luddite bs though in that LED light is produced in much narrower bands than incandescent light. So it doesn't look natural no matter what you do. But there's no such thing as natural light at 1am.
