Hasn't been cheap in ages.
They are selling ebikes to idiots for 15k
Just bring production back it's more then possible and stop pretending people that have masters degrees and work at fast foot restorants can't learn how to use simple tools.

Well they pay airline fuel every time you order a pack of toothpicks after all

Exactly plus most production can be automated and already is.
We actually made the productions lines China has or they stole it.

The xAI Colossus data center was built in 6 months. Highly automated factories are being built in Western countries as we speak. China can be the workshop of BRICS.

I was always taught to spread my feet wide enough that if the axe slips or comes through whatever im chopping that it will move through the opening and not hit my shin or calve, ie I was taught not to stand the way she is and it was from old timers who are no longer around to defend themselves

Oh, you're right bro. Chinese stuff is not actually cheap! Let's make a law that they have to bring production to Europe!

But wait. What if they still underpay the people making it here? They also need to pass a law that they need to have a politically designated salary!

What if they sell that stuff for a too high price with the excuse of "made locally"? They need to pass a law that it has to be at a max price that politicians determine!

But wait. What if they manufacture the wrong products? Like let's say, they for example dedicate a whole factory to some servers for AI slop, and then there's not enough of what people actually want, such as a cellphone that is actually decent and the battery lasts? They need to also pass a law that they have to make what politicians think they should!

But what if they just make trash? What if they bring production back but it's actually lower quality than chinese stuff, due to the greed of the same people who took production to china? Politicians still need to make a law enforcing minimum standards of quality determined by them!

Do you seriously see nothing wrong with this line of thought?

>Exactly plus most production can be automated
partially automated*
Pretty much nothing complicated can be fully automate and even if it can it requires a lot of maintenance and constant programming development unless the production lines are static for many years.

They're already producing in Europe; (North) Italy* is full of Chinese workers producing chinese goods for chinese companies, who benefit from the Made in Italy label.
*) In fact, it was there that the covid surge happened in Italy.
