How do boomers cope with the reality that they pissed everything away and left nothing behind and very possibly doomed their entire race to annihilation?
They don't cope at all because they don't care.

Their ungrateful children will wait for the first fractured hip or lapse in memory to ask the doctor to sign off on the papers saying that they are no longer capable of taking care of themselves and that the children now hold power of attorney over their estate. Then they will get committed to the lowest bidder retirement home while the kids liquidate their estate and live it up as they slowly rot away alone.
